Lain Ewing is a director whose work explores human connection through dark optimism, comedy, and redemption. She began her career at a movie studio in the Philippines and has since made her mark with award-winning shorts and branded content. She is currently in post-production on Performance Review, where crickets, dog perfume, and hallucinatory frogs plague a long-suffering assistant trying to maintain her dignity and get a promotion. Her short Red Flags premiered at Dances With Films LA, and she has earned awards including Best Director at Marriott's 2019 CRN 48-Hour Film Challenge and Best Female Filmmaker at the Austin International Art Festival. Lain has directed branded content for YMCA, Yelp, and Anthem. She currently assists director Kevin Bray (Succession, Insecure), volunteers with Homey-Made Meals, and directed live theatre for Homeward LA, a project addressing homelessness in Los Angeles.
