‘Aew: Dynamite’ Review (Feb 1st 2023)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. We’ve got Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz on commentary so let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Jon Moxley def. “Hangman” Adam Page The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Moxley jumped “Hangman” as Moxley was making his entrance. Moxley hurled Adam Page into the barricade. Moxley delivered a flying sledge as he jumped off the barricade onto Hangman. Adam Page turned the tables, delivering a big boot to Moxley as they brawled amongst the fans. Moxley applied the figure four on the floors and flipped off Adam Page. Moxley hit Page in the ribs with a steel chair. Page slung the chair at Moxley’s head. Page suplexed Moxley onto the chair on the arena floor. Page caught Moxley flush in the forehead. Moxley, dazed, began to bleed from the forehead.

KaraKatiz: Lez git down to the ooey, gooey, goodnezz of prafashional rassleeeeeeeeeeen!!!!!!

Match #1: Candice LeRae def. Ember Moon The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Ember Moon dominated the early action behind a fiery start, though the numbers game eventually proved difficult to overcome. Not only was Candice LeRae joined by protege Indi Hartwell, but their new allies Dakota Kai and Raquel González made their way to ringside as well. Hartwell’s presence proved pivotal as she shoved LeRae out of the way to instead take Moon’s Eclipse,...

‘WWE Nxt’ Review (Nov 18th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a wonderful excerpt of an interview with Helen Keller in honor of our Women’s Championship main event:

Interviewer: Hello Helen.

Helen Keller: Wa?

Interviewer: (louder) Hello Helen!

Hk: (louder) Wa?!

Int: (louder) Hello…H-e-l-e-…

Hk: (louder) Waaaaaaaaa?!

Int: (louder) Hellllll…

Hk: (louder) Waaaaaaaa…

You get the idea. We have a bunch of short matches, because that’s what draws; short, dull matches. Let’s get ri…what the…? Stonkley Jones: Greetings sir! What a fine gentleman…a fine gentleman you are. Are you interested in bangin’ a man whose mother didn’t have any children that lived? Nathan: Um…what the f…

‘WWE Nxt’ Review (Nov 11th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this show still is missing the vowel. We’ve got three title matches and my big fat ass in a speedo, so won’t you stick around for the big buttedness…and wrestling?

Match #1: Leon Ruff def. Johnny Gargano – Nxt North American Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Johnny Gargano set out to finally put an end to his championship curse, but what unfolded was instead his worst nightmare. His “Wheel of Challengers” landed on Leon Ruff’s name — written on a piece of tape and conspicuous by its contrast to the other names on the list. Gargano mostly dominated the up-and-comer as former North American Champion Damian Priest watched from behind the barricade in the Capitol Wrestling Center. One mistake proved costly, however, as Ruff dodged a superkick...

Which is Better: Nxt or Aew Dynamite
Image
So usually, when it comes to Which is Better, I stick to movies, with horror films regularly being the battling topic at hand. This time, though, I thought I’d turn to a controversial topic in the world of professional wrestling, and pit two competing wrestling programs against one another. This isn’t about ratings or drama or fandom, but rather a straight forward look at what I, a pro-wrestling fan who watches both WWE and Aew every week, thinks is the best show between Aew Dynamite and Nxt.

Now, this is bound to upset some people, but please, dear wrestling fan, understand that whichever outcome this article has, it doesn’t mean it’s “correct”. This is subjective, it’s all about opinions, and you can disagree, and that is your correct answer too. It is fun, though, to pit two things that are related against each other in order to choose which is,...

‘WWE Nxt’ Review (Sept 16th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have lots of wrestling… with my sexuality. I like cardboard. Harlan County, USA doesn’t care about your feelings. Those filthy miners just want your coal! Don’t give them sh*t! Okay, Damien Priest fights Timothy Thatcher for the North American Title, because Don Knotts said so!

Match #1: Io Shirai def. Shotzi Blackheart The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Shotzi Blackheart quickly proved she was more than up to the task of standing toe-to-toe with the champion, putting forth a courageous effort against Io Shira. In the end though, it was The Genius of the Sky prevailing, putting Blackheart away with her patented top-rope moonsault after a worthy challenge.

My Opinion: 4.1 out of 5 – This was a hell of an opener. Io and Shotzi knocked the Mulan out of each other!

‘WWE Nxt’ Review (Sept 1st 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the 4-Way Iron-Man match, which ought to be a real smash-mouth fight to the finish. Okay, take your pants off and get ready to pee, because Nxt starts…I smell asparagus.

Match #1: Isaiah “Swerve” Scott & Breezango def. Legado del Fantasma – Six-Man Street Fight The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Tempers boiled over and led to a chaotic encounter that saw the use of a table, a fire extinguisher and even a forklift. A week removed from losing the Nxt Tag Team Titles to Breezango, Imperium’s Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner retaliated by getting involved in this bout. But they and Legado del Fantasma were taken out when Fandango and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott ascended a forklift, toppling their foes with a gravity-defying leap. Moments later, “Swerve” scored a major win...

‘Nxt Takeover XXX’ PPV Review (Aug 22nd 2020)
Image
Welcome to this review of Nxt Takeover XXX, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Mr. Happy is your best friend…in the crotch. I could wink at a falcon all day…as long as this show is good. Falcon! Wait! We’ve got time…to wink! Carl Sagan is gonna help us with the review, bec…he’s dead. Well, we’ve got Pat McAfee, because the roster has no one else on it that can wrestle…no one. I once told my friend Jaro, “Kill A Man, Jaro”, because Nxt Takeover XXX starts…well, it already happened, so Saturday, August 22, 2020.

Match #1: Breezango def. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch and Legado del Fantasma – No. 1 Contenders Match To The Nxt Tag Team Championship The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In a fast and furious throwdown to determine the next challengers to Nxt Tag Team Champions Imperium, Breezango...

‘WWE Nxt’ (July 29th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Bwhahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Hey, little baby…Piss Me Off! Bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! If Rey Mysterio was a stereo, then you could plug some speakers in his ass for surround sound and twist his nipples to change the volume and station. Alright, Donald Trump had people taken for protesting racism and Nxt starts now…Rickllllllllllllllles!!!!!!!!!

Match #1: Io Shirai & Tegan Nox def. Candice LeRae & Dakota Kai The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Dakota Kai ambushed Io Shirai for the second time in three weeks, this time to kick off Nxt while Shirai was making her entrance, and the scene quickly devolved into disarray with the other two competitors joining them for a melee before the action officially started. Kai and Candice LeRae worked well together early on, isolating Tegan Nox until Shirai lit up the ring and her opponents with her athleticism.

‘WWE Nxt’ Review (July 22nd 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Donald Trump is having people stolen away in the night, as they say. From what I’ve heard, this all has to do with the Black Lives Matter movement and wanting to silence those people that have been actively protesting the systemic racism in the U.S.A. Well, I guess Donald Trump wants to be Big Brother, because he’s a dumb son of a bitch. Well, as Donald Trump tries to ruin peoples’ lives, let’s take a look at some wrestling from the guy who is best friends with Big Brother Jr. himself.

Match #1: Dexter Lumis def. Killian Dain The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The impressive wins are piling up for Nxt’s “Tortured Artist.” This time, Dexter Lumis took down perhaps his strongest adversary yet in a hard-hitting bout,...

‘WWE Nxt’ Review (July 15th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and George Forman has ten sons named George, George, George, George, George, George, George, George, George and George, because he didn’t want anyone to get them confused. We’ve got Keith Lee’s first show as the double champion, which seems like a McDonald’s commercial for eating two Big Macs at the same time (that’s a lot of asbestos [allegedly]), but it’s not. Also, Io Shirai is here to defend the Women’s Title against Tegan Nox, so don’t go anywhere, or I’ll nuke the Emerald City! I’ll get you my pretty and your little dog too! Heheheheheheheheheheheheh!

Match #1: Damian Priest def. Cameron Grimes The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Cameron Grimes tried to catch Damian Priest off-guard with a Cave-In attempt before the bell sounded, but Priest was ready and waiting.

‘WWE 205 Live’ Review (July 10th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s 205 Live, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a few matches to get to, so strap-on…In… to your gimp…Seat! I wish this computer had a delete button. Okay, let’s land this plane safely…no, not the monkey!

Match #1: Mansoor def. Tehuti Miles The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

You’d be forgiven if you forgot that this was Mansoor’s first match since February. The athletic Cruiserweight, who has victories over the likes of Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro, didn’t show the slightest sign of ring rust when he collided with the upstart Tehuti Miles, matching him hold for hold in the early goings and darting around the ring at a breakneck pace near the end. When he wasn’t arguing with the official or arrogantly smirking into the camera, Miles was employing a methodical pace...

‘WWE Nxt: The Great American Bash – Part 1’ Review (July 1st 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt special called The Great American Bash: Part 1. I’m Nathan Favel and this review will have five matches and no whales. I’m flat-out surprised that this is even happening. Will this show redeem the years of lame GABs from Vkm, or will the WWE put the Aok in this once great PPV? Penny…Penny…Penny…Penny…Penny…it’s wrestling time.

Match #1: Tegan Nox def. Dakota Kai, Mia Yim and Candice LeRae – Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match To Become The No. 1 Contender To The Nxt Women’s Title The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Mia Yim was the first to score an elimination, pinning Candice LeRae after hitting the Protect Ya Neck. The chaotic action continued with Yim teaming up with Tegan Nox temporarily for double-team offense against Dakota Kai, but The Captain of Team Kick eliminated The Hbic with a crafty Okana roll and bridge,...

‘WWE Nxt’ Review (May 13th 2020)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and He Loved Big Brother…Not! Big Brother has a big, stinky butt and is a f—-face. 2+2=4 mother-f—–! Okay, enough dissidence, or you will be vaporized. I think I’ve gone full Herb Abrams. Let’s hear it for… Nxt!

Match #1: Imperium def. Matt Riddle & Timothy Thatcher – Nxt Tag Team Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

As a significantly more experienced team, Imperium controlled much of the action. However, the decisive moment had very little to do with Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel. Matt Riddle’s monkey flip inadvertently sent Barthel flying into Timothy Thatcher, and a fed-up Thatcher walked out on Riddle, who was desperately seeking a tag. The Original Bro succumbed to the 2-on-1 disadvantage, suffering the pinfall defeat after the European Bomb crowned new champions.

My Opinion: 3.4 out...

James Cameron
‘WWE Nxt’ Review (April 15th 2020)
James Cameron
Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Battle Beyond The Stars has an intergalactic space-ship with breasts…thanks to James Cameron. The final moments of this show will give you a Dead Ringers sense of déjà vu that will make you want to get to the good part. Are you ready for some football?

Match #1: Finn Bálor def. Fabian Aichner The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

If mowing down Imperium one-by-one is the only way Finn Bálor can get to Nxt United Kingdom Champion Walter, The Prince doesn’t seem to mind. Bálor conquered another of Walter’s soldiers this week on Nxt, this time taking down Fabian Aichner. In what was essentially a Handicap Match at times, Bálor had to stave off Aichner as well as fellow Imperium member Marcel Barthel at ringside. But the uneven odds only seemed to further motivate Bálor.

‘Mlw: Fusion’ Review (Dec 7th 2019)
Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have…not as much as there should be. Mlw is taking a page (or 7000) from Ring Of Honor and phoning it in towards the end of this year. You’ll see when you read the review. Matt Lauer scares the s— out of me and this review starts now.

Match #1: Invitational Battle Royal – Winner: Grogan The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

Hammer has a lot invested in this bout as “his big gift” Grogan in embedded in the brawl. The first out is Barrington Hughes as it takes a group effort to get the super-heavyweight over the top.

Eliminated: Barrington Hughes

Zenshi faces a very close call against Timothy Thatcher, but the young cruiserweight skins the cat. Dominic Garrini ties up with Savio Vega as Zenshi hangs on one more,...

The Last Week in Wrestling #43 (Wrestling Round-Up)
Welcome to this edition of the The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Jack Black f—– a guy in a movie. I’m serious. This week, we have a bunch of cool stuff to get to, but I don’t remember what any of it is. I’ll just pretend I know what I’m talking about, as usual. I’m using this TalkTech/TechTalk thing and it keeps cutting in to other people’s phone calls. Did you hide the body? She had to die! Ummmmmm…that wasn’t me. Okay, let’s get started.

Best Moment:

Mjf Does The Obvious (All Elite Wrestling) – Mjf finally turned on Cody Rhodes, which was a surprise to no one.
