Prime Video’s hit German-language drama Maxton Hall — The World Between Us is heading back to class this November with seven new cast members. According to Deadline, joining the cast are Dagny Dewath, Proschat Madani, Anna Lucia Gustmann, Basil Eidenbenz, Laura de Boer, Kiro Ebra, and Gina Henkel. There’s also one major recast.

Dewath plays Ophelia Beaufort, the younger sister of James and twin sister of Lydia’s mother, Cordelia Beaufort. She is secretly in contact with her sister and secretly aids Ruby and James. Madani stars as Alice Campbell, an influential businesswoman offering Ruby a private Oxford scholarship after she organized a gala for her foundation.

We have some good news for the fans of the popular German teen drama series Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, as Prime Video announced on Monday that they have renewed the series for Season 3. The second season of the teen drama series is all set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7, 2025.

Based on a trilogy of bestselling novels by author Mona Kasten, the recently announced Season 3 will probably cover the third novel titled Save Us, as the upcoming Season 2 is adapting Save You, the second novel in the trilogy.

While the early renewal is good news for the fans, it was also announced that Season 3 of Maxton Hall will be the final entry in the series. As the stars of the series, Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung, said in an Instagram video, “One last time, back to school.

A new report from Deadline confirmed that Prime Video has already ordered Maxton Hall: The World Between Us season 3. Personally, I can't contain my excitement that Prime Video announced the official season 2 release date and we can officially start counting down the days until we're back at Maxton Hall with James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) and Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten). Very quickly, the show got a second season renewal and now we're all eagerly awaiting for more of the young adult romance. That means we'll take any teases and hints at what's to come!

Speaking with German Films' Short Take podcast, James actor Damian Hardung teased a little bit of what happens next in Maxton Hall season 2, and spoke about some of the challenges he faced filming the second part of the story. Not all of it sounds easy, and his character will definitely be facing tough times. Here's what he said, per Deadline:

“I just did the [Automatic Dialogue Replacement] for it and the second season is really dark and [there’s] a lot of grief and trauma in my character.

Damian Hardung has opened up on filming the sophomore season of Maxton Hall – The World Between Us.

Avoiding specific spoilers but speaking broadly about his character James Beaufort’s arc in the upcoming series, he said: “I just did the Adr for it and the second season is really dark and [there’s] a lot of grief and trauma in my character.”

He added: “I had a really tough time shooting that, it really pushed me to a point where I’m like: ‘I don’t know if that’s healthy anymore.’ So, I’m really eager to see how that played out on screen.”

Hardung, whose other credits include How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) and Love Sucks, was speaking on the ‘Short Take’ podcast from German Films.

Production began on the season in summer 2024, and it only took them a few months to get through it all.
