Kyung-ju is a struggling writer who writes about violent and gory murder mysteries. When a fierce argument with his landlady ends up in murder, he stages the killing so that it will appear like the serial murder that has been happening in his village recently. Anxious that the police might find out that the latest killing was a copycat murder, he starts his own investigation to track down the real killer, with a help of his detective friend.
