The son of longtime Saturday Night Live (1975) writer/producer Steve Higgins, John Higgins is an American actor who grew up in Montclair, New Jersey and graduated from New York University in 2018. Higgins is best known for his sketch group Please Don't Destroy (consisting of himself, Ben Marshall, and Martin Herlihy), who were hired as writer-performers on Saturday Night Live in 2021 after going viral on TikTok, Twitter and Instagram. The group parlayed their run on SNL into writing and starring in a Judd Apatow-produced movie, Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain (2023), which was scheduled for a theatrical release in August of 2023 before it was shifted to a release as a Peacock exclusive in November 2023. Higgins has also appeared in the films Le Pire voisin au monde (2022) and The Country Club (2023). He's married to actress Emily Wilson. He's also the cousin of actress Abby Elliott and the nephew of comedian Chris Elliott, actor David Anthony Higgins, and Bob Hearts Abishola (2019) creator Alan J. Higgins.
