John Carpenter and Tatiana Maslany are among the top creators setting up podcasts for audio firm Realm.
The Halloween co-creator and his wife Sandy King Carpenter are scaring up three series starting with Roanoke Falls, an atmospheric thriller about the fear of the unknown, the dangers of superstition, and the depths of desperation.
The series, which will come out in October 2021, follows a woman who investigates a string of murders in the second Roanoke settlement, leading her to a serial killer from the original voyage who waits in the woods.
The pair will follow Roanoke Falls in winter 2022 with Angel to Some and Furnace. Angel to Some follows a chronically ill Catholic student who calls on a guardian angel to protect her — but the angel who shows up instead wants her dead. Furnace is centered around a former tech darling who sets out to start a utopia called The Furnace,...

Orphan Black, the sci-fi hit that netted Tatiana Maslany an Emmy for her shape-shifting lead performance, is continuing with a new written and audio installment that will feature Maslany’s voice.
Serial Box, a start-up that offers subscribers access to serialized stories in both e-book and audio form, is teaming up with Temple Street, a division of Boat Rocker Studios, to extend the show, which ended its U.S. run on BBC America in 2017. The companies said the new episodes will be the “length of an average commute” and will appear weekly.
The project follows Serial Box’s recent teaming with Marvel Entertainment for original stories based on Black Panther, Jessica Jones, Black Widow, and Thor.
For the new Orphan Black installment, Serial Box has signed Malka Older as showrunner and Mishell Baker, Lindsay Smith, and Heli Kennedy as writers. Employing the approach of a TV writers room, Serial Box...

“Orphan Black” is coming back in the most unexpected of ways: as an audio sequel series. And yes, Tatiana Maslany is involved.
Temple Street Productions, the production company behind the now-ended BBC America drama, is partnering with digital fiction startup Serial Box for an audio continuation of the TV show, “Orphan Black: The Next Chapter.”
The 10-episode series is set eight years after the events of the show’s fifth and final season and will be released by Serial Box later this summer in audiobook and text formats. The official continuation of “Orphan Black” will feature the same characters from the series, with all 14 members of the original show’s clone sisterhood voiced by Maslany.

“Orphan Black” signed off television in August 2017 after five seasons and 50 episodes, but its breakout star Tatiana Maslany has announced the story is set to continue in a new audiobook series that will span 10 episodes. The show’s production company, Temple Street Productions, has inked a deal with Serial Box for “Orphan Black: The Next Chapter,” which will find Maslany reprising her various clone characters for a new adventure set eight years after the television series finale.
Neither Serial Box or Temple Street Productions are giving away plot details about “Orphan Black: The Next Chapter,” although they did tease that the fan favorite relationship between Cosima (Maslany) and Delphine (Évelyne Brochu) “definitely plays a big part in the story.”
