So, comets hit L.A. and people begin turning into zombies. What? No, I’m serious. This is a movie about comets or meteorites or some such nonsense, hitting L.A. and turning people into… well, I guess compelling them to put zombie masks on, because you can see people’s faces underneath the makeup. In all seriousness, I had no idea what to expect from Disaster L.A.. The cover made it look like just another generic, poorly-done zombie movie, but the fact that it was being released by Warner Bros – albeit a straight-to-video release -, and the fact that I had friends assuring me that this one was different, meant that I would give it a chance. A few weeks after learning that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has acquired rights to Turner Clay's Disaster L.A.: The Last Zombie Apocalypse Begins Here, the trailer has arrived, giving us our first taste of the latest in a seemingly never-ending stream of zombie films.

Warner Bros. has warned fans to brace themselves for a September 23rd Dtv Blu-ray and DVD release for the film plus Digital Download -- in time for Halloween viewing.

The Infected Needs Help Spreading its Sickness
We told you about the horror project The Infected about a week or so ago, and the people behind it are now reaching out to the horror community to help get this thing out and infecting the masses.

From the Press Release

Writer/director Barry Morgan (Arcana) and actress/producer Helenna Santos (American Reunion, Black Box TV) are well under way with post-production for the new short horror film The Infected. In order to get the film on screens for horror lovers everywhere, they are looking to the indie horror community for assistance in raising finishing funds.

​With picture lock completed, The Infected is now off to color correction, sound design, and scoring.

It's been a while since we've had the privilege of debuting a new short film from Patrick Rea, but the prolific filmmaker dropped us a line today with an offer we couldn't refuse: the chance to kick off the weekend with Hell Week, written by Michelle Davidson. Check it out!

SenoReality Pictures Wraps New Short Titled Hell Week, Prepping Future Projects
Indie director/producer Patrick Rea dropped us a line to let us know that his Kansas-based SenoReality Pictures recently wrapped production on "Hell Week", yet another new short film from the prolific Rea and his team, and they are already looking forward to the next, a drama/thriller titled "Rhino".

Here are the details, along with a quick update on Rea's upcoming feature-length Nailbiter:

"Hell Week", written by Michelle Davidson, is a suspense-satire about a sorority prank that goes too far. It was directed by Patrick Rea and produced by Rea, Ryan S. I tell ya, anybody familiar with Patrick Rea and Senoreality Pictures know that they crank out some FANtastic films and shorts and today we have some cool news to share with all of you FANatics! From the Press Release:

February 8, 2011 – Kansas City, Ks -- SenoReality Pictures, a Kansas City based film producers, wrapped a new short film in December titled “Hell Week”. The short film, written by Michelle Davidson, is a suspense-satire about a sorority prank that goes too far. The short film is directed by Patrick Rea, produced by Rea, Ryan S. Jones, Michelle Davidson and Jerod Meagher. The film was shot by Director of Photography – Hanuman Brown-Eagle (SenoReality short films, Fight Night, Nailbiter) and stars Jerod Meagher, Meg Saricks, Tasha Smith and Molly Anderson.
