A while back, author Elisa Victoria wrote Mr. Sandman, “a horror adult picture book about a dream monster” that is available for purchase through her website. Now, Victoria has teamed up with Michael Tully, the writer/director of the comedy Ping Pong Summer and the horror thriller Don’t Leave Home, to adapt the story of Mr. Sandman into the screenplay for a horror movie called Eye for an Eye, which stars Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and is set to receive a theatrical and VOD release next Friday, June 20th. Mazel, Bravosphere! As part of a new pact with NBCUniversal, Andy Cohen’s overall deal with the company has been extended for three years, and his nightly talk show on Bravo “Watch What Happens Live,” has been renewed for two more years.

Kendrick Lamar was top winner at the 2025 BET Awards, held in Los Angeles Monday night.

The rapper took home the awards for album of the year for Gnx, best male hip-hop artist, video of the year for “Not Like Us” and best collaboration alongside Sza for “Luther.” Lamar also shared the award for video director of the year with his longtime creative partner Dave Free.

Sza and Chris Brown won best female and male R&b/pop artists, respectively. Doechii also won the award for best female hip-hop artist. During the latter’s acceptance speech, the rapper called out President Donald Trump for the “ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order” amid protests against unlawful immigration raids in Los Angeles.

Other winners included Leon Thomas for best new artist, Denzel Washington for best actor and Cynthia Erivo for best actress.

Hosted by Kevin Hart, the BET Awards celebrated its 25th year on Monday with a three-hour ceremony honoring Black excellence in music, movies, sports and beyond.

Drake ties for the second most nominated artist this year, alongside a couple people in the beef’s orbit.

This year’s BET Awards 2025 nominees reflect multifaceted creative expression and Black excellence across music, television, film, and sports.

Nominations were selected by the BET Voting Academy, which is comprised of an esteemed group of entertainment professionals and influencers in the fields of music, media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and creative arts.

Voting for the 2025 Viewer’s Choice Award will open soon.

The show will air live on BET from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, June 9 at 8 p.m. Et. This milestone 25th anniversary event will honor “25 years of cultural excellence, spotlighting the most influential names in music, film, television, and sports.”

BET has revealed its nominees for the 25th annual BET Awards, and competition is stiff among rappers. Kendrick Lamar sits in the lead with 10 nominations, though close behind are fellow hip-hop artists Doechii, Future, GloRilla and Lamar’s lyrical nemesis Drake, with six nominations each.

Lamar received a nomination for album of the year for Gnx and video of the year for “Not Like Us,” as well as three viewer’s choice award nods for “Not Like Us,” “Luther,” featuring Sza, and “Like That” with Future & Metro Boomin, and an additional three noms for best collaboration for “Like That,” “30 for 30” and “Luther.” His final two nominations come in the categories of video director of the year with Dave Free and best male hip hop artist.

The 42-year-old “Super Freaky Girl” rapper looked so fierce as she arrived at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 5) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
