- Tipsarevic was born in Belgrade, Serbia (then SFR Yugoslavia). His father, Pavle, is a professor, and his mother, Vesna, is a housewife. He also has a younger brother, Veljko. He finished high school and in 2006 completed university studies in Belgrade, studying Sports Management. Commentators and the press often mention his love of classic literature as something unusual for a high-level athlete. He has a quotation, tattooed in Japanese, from Dostoyevsky ("Beauty will save the world", from The Idiot) on his left arm. He also has a Japanese tattoo on his right arm, which represents the first two letters of the names of his father, his mother, his brother, and himself in Catalina. According to US Open announcers Ted Robinson and John McEnroe, he also has a tattoo of a quote from Arthur Schopenhauer on his back. He has been in a relationship with Biljana Sesevic since 2007, and they married on July 4, 2010.- IMDb mini biography by: Joko

- [2017] In my opinion, the younger generation has neglected fitness. They emphasize balance, working on abs and back in the gym, it is like they just stopped running. It's like running is "old school", we go to the gym to work on our balance so that we could have a phone in the right hand and to pose for Instagram. But running is one of the most important things in tennis.
- [2017] Ferrer used to smoke, but he stopped 3-4 years ago. I remember before our match at the World Tour Finals in London, we were in the toilet peeing and he was doing it with a cigarette in his mouth. Long time ago, Nadal used to eat a jar of Nutella and drink like 3 litres of Coca-Cola daily when he was number 2, number 3 in the world. One third of Bayern Munich FC smokes, I know because I have been to a restaurant with them. It is true, there are things that are not the best for an athlete. I would never coach someone who drinks or smokes, but everybody has a path. For instance, Ferrer makes everything up by practicing around the clock. And there is less and less such things, players worry about what they eat, what they do a whole lot more. They started investing in themselves - there is no point dragging along a physio, fitness and a tennis coach if you are going to smoke a box of cigarettes per day. That is why "older" players get good results, the bar has gone further.
- [2017] The only thing that can motivate an athlete is a goal, so I am convinced that Federer finds motivation in his quest to be number one again. He is the best player of all time, what can inspire him now except the number one spot? The only way to motivate yourself is that you set yourself bigger goals and you have to be ready to work your ass off and maybe don't get what you want. One of the reasons of my fall, except for the injury, is the following - I started paying attention to those behind me in the ATP Rankings list, not those in front of me. It's simple, you have to look forward and to feed yourself with thoughts like "I want more". Also, there has to be a small portion of dissatisfaction - not that you are sad or anything, it is just you have to want even more and that is the reason why you get up at 7AM to practice.
