Plot

A wealthy German family arrives at a French villa for vacation. One night, after having some drinks, they have an accident, and a mysterious girl enters their lives. Teodora enters the family and the world of each of them, and reveals to them a world much beyond what they are accustomed to.

“Elite” Season 8, which is currently in production at Netflix, will be the long-running Spanish teen drama’s last. The news was confirmed by the streamer via social media.

Updated with Carlos Montero statement: Netflix‘s longest-running Spanish scripted series Elite is coming to an end. Just two days ahead of its Season 7 premiere, the streamer announced Wednesday on X (fka Twitter) that the teen drama will end with its eighth season.

Elite was renewed for Season 8, which is currently in production, in July, but there was no mention at the time that it would be the final season. Series creator Carlos Montero confirmed at a press conference for Season 7, that Season 8 would be the series’ last, saying the series “ended on a high note”.

Ane Rot and Nuno Gallego are joining the series, and Mina el Hammani, who recurred for the first three seasons, will return as Nadia. Production of the new episodes will begin next month.

Netflix’s longest-running Spanish scripted series Elite has landed an eighth season.

Elite‘s latest run will feature new faces including Ane Rot (Killer Book Club) and Nuno Gallego (Upa Next), while Mina el Hammani, who recurred in the first three seasons, reprises the role of Nadia.

Created by Carlos Montero and Jaime Vaca, Elite has been airing since 2018 and is set in a fictional high school. The teen drama revolves around the relationships among three working-class students enrolled at the elite school through a scholarship program and their wealthy classmates.

Other cast include Ander Puig, Carmen Arrufat, Álvaro de Juana, Ana Bokesa, Álex Pastrana, André Lamoglia, Valentina Zenere, Carla Díaz, Martina Cariddi, Adam Nourou and Manu Ríos. Mirela Balic, Fernando Líndez, Gleb Abrosimov, Ivan Mendes, Alejandro Albarracin and Maribel Verdu also joined the cast for the previous season.

Netflix has revealed Season 7 of its popular Spanish YA drama series Elite will premiere on October 20. The streamer announced the news Saturday during its Tudum fan event where it also unveiled a teaser trailer (with subtitles) for the upcoming season (see it above).

Netflix promises Season 7 will be an epic journey for the students of Las Encinas.

In season 6, after another student’s death, Las Encinas entered a new school year determined to cover up for its scandalous past. But conflicts continued as racism, sexism, domestic abuse and homophobia run rampant in the halls of the prestigious institution. If those who run the school don’t take action to root out these issues, the students are going to do it for them.

Ahead of the premiere of Elite Season 6, the official social media accounts for the Netflix hit confirmed Tuesday that the show has been renewed for a seventh season.

Netflix shows rarely make it past their first few seasons, so Elite will be joining the likes of Orange is the New Black as one of the longest-running shows on the service.

Netflix has not confirmed the renewal, but given that the social media channel for the show has confirmed the cast of Elite Season 7, it's about as official as we'll get.

The most shocking part of the announcement is the news that Omar Ayuso, who played Omar Shanaa for the first five seasons, is returning.

No details have been revealed about what brings him back into the fold, but it's possible we might get some answers on Elite Season 6 (premiering November 18).

Additionally, it sounds like we're getting another major revamp for Elite Season 7.

Set in the private, elite secondary school Las Encinas, “Élite” follows an ensemble cast of students that constantly find themselves involved with various murder and police investigations. From threesomes to love triangles, the incoming students are making themselves right at home at the upper-class secondary school Las Encinas. Just because Elite is returning for Season 4, don't expect every cast member to return. 

Netflix on Monday revealed the official cast for the fourth season of the Spanish drama series. 

Andrés Velencoso, Manu Rios (El Chiringuito de Pepe), Carla Díaz (El Príncipe), Martina Cariddi (Mientras dure la guerra), Pol Granch and Diego Martín will be part of the universe of Las Encinas, the streamer has announced.

Their characters will cross paths with Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau), Samuel (Itzan Escamilla), Ander (Arón Piper), Omar (Omar Ayuso), Rebeca (Claudia Salas), and Cayetana (Georgina Amorós).
