Giulio Musi is a Swedish screenwriter, producer, and director. He received his Master's degree from the American Film Institute (AFI), studying closely under the mentorship of Back to the Future producer Neil Canton and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Frank Pierson.
Giulio has previously worked as a script reader at the Sundance Feature Film Department. He also has a career in commercial filmmaking, where he has won Lions at the Cannes Lions festival.
His first feature film, Förmänskligas, had its world premiere at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) - a competitive A-list festival accredited by FIAPF. Förmänskligas was also nominated for Best Nordic Feature at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The film received distribution support from the Swedish Film Institute and the Swedish Arts Grants Committee prior to its theatrical release in Sweden.
Last summer, Giulio was awarded a residency at the Bergman Estate, where he lived in Ingmar Bergman's house, Hammars, while working on a new feature film project.
Giulio also recently produced his second feature film, Pojkvänstestarna (The Boyfriend Testers), starring Alexander Stocks, Andreas Wilson, and Claes Malmberg.
In addition to his feature film company, Jaione, Giulio also runs the Swedish commercial production company Let's Be Frank, as well as the pan-European service production network Europa Films.
As a service producer, Giulio has also been involved in producing the Italian segment of the TV series Gåsmamman: Epilogen and the Danish segment of Ed Sheeran's The Sum of It All.
