The latest episode of Ghosts is truly like no other, celebrating the global 4/20 holiday, which also sees our favorite hippie, Flower (Sheila Carrasco), in her element. “I Know What You Did Thirty-Seven Summers Ago” aired on CBS less than twenty-four hours ago and in it, Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) employee Gabe (Dustin Ybarra) who marks the special day by smoking pot in his car after being talked to about his marijuana use, is eventually revealed to have an impact on the other spirits at Woodstone, beginning with Pete (Richie Moriarty) who receives a contact high.

Unsurprisingly, Flower encourages Pete to become more relaxed, basking in the experience, and he takes her word for it. Meanwhile, nothing of significance happens between the permanently high ghost and fellow stoner Gabe. However, Carrasco hints to TV Insider that there may be room for even more shenanigans for Gabe in Ghosts, but with her character in particular.

What a trip Pete (Richie Moriarty) must have had in the April 24 episode of Ghosts, and it was all thanks to living stoner Gabe (Dustin Ybarra), who just had to mark the 4/20 holiday in style. Set on April 20, “I Know What You Did Thirty-Seven Summers Ago” provided an unforgettable experience for Pete, who got himself high after joining Gabe for a hot-boxing session in his car. While the friendly ghost wasn’t so thrilled about being intoxicated at first, he eventually relished the moment thanks to Flower (Sheila Carrasco).

In an interview with TV Insider, Carrasco discusses that moment in Pete’s afterlife, explaining how her character feels as a guide to him. She notes that Flower was delighted about him experiencing a good time, but later had doubts before assuring herself that nothing would go wrong. The TV star said:

Writer-director Mike Young’s action-comedy feature Stealing Jokes is set for release next month from Freestyle Digital Media.

The company, which is the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, has acquired the movie and will release it via digital platforms and DVD on Nov. 1. The ensemble cast includes Jeff Dye (The Wedding Year), Dustin Ybarra (Easter Sunday), HaHa Davis (Domino: Battle of the Bones), Michael Rapaport (Beautiful Girls), Luke Null (Saturday Night Live), Ryu Go Eun (Everything’s Trash), Al Madrigal (Night School) and Michael Manasseri (Weird Science).

Stealing Jokes centers on a comedian and his friends who, after setting out on a comedy tour, get bilked out of their promised fees on the first night. They decide to rob the venue, leading to a heist involving the underworld of the comedy scene. The trailer, which is exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter, can be seen below.

Exclusive: Jeff Dye (Better Late Than Never), Carlos “HaHa” Davis (The Come Up), Dustin Ybarra (Home Economics) and Ryu Go Eun (WeCrashed) have signed on to star in Stealing Jokes, an action-comedy from writer-director Mike Young (A Stand Up Guy), which is heading into production this week in Detroit.

The film follows three comics who hit the road, turn the tables on shady club owners and pull off a major heist, setting off a chain of events that go horribly south. Dan Gilbert, who owns Quicken Loans and the Cleveland Cavaliers, is serving as the project’s financier and producing alongside Eddie Rubin, Michael Manasseri and Detroit’s Woodward Original.

ABC has canceled Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, its freshman dramedy starring Jason Ritter. The series got off to a slow start in the network’s challenging Tuesday 10 Pm slot, which has claimed a slew of short-lived drama series.

Formerly known as The Gospel of Kevin, the show from creators Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters was in a similar hopeful, light, one-hour style as ABC’s breakout hit The Good Doctor but had a rough time building an audience. It opened with a soft 4.2 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 (Live+Same Day), and its ratings slipped in most of the subsequent weeks. If you've seen any of the previous trailers from Season 2 of Gotham, debuting Monday, September 21 at 8 Pm Et on Fox, you have noticed that this season has been dubbed "Rise of the Villains." Today, Fox has released a new trailer which shows some of the villains who will rise above the Gcpd, including Penguin (Robin Taylor), Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and Catwoman (Camren Bicondova). This trailer shows all of these villains immortalized in a bronze statue, and while we don't see any new footage, their dialogue gives us some clues into the upcoming season.

When best friends Michael and Matty make a pact to lose their virginity before prom, a spanner is thrown in the works when Matty comes out as gay. Trying to work out their new situation, Michael makes it his life ambition to continue the pact no matter what. Together, they start on an adventure of calamity and hi-jinx as they try to find their place in the world, how their lives have changed because of it and who can they persuade to have sex with them before prom night is through.

Date and Switch definitely suffers from that classic ‘teenager romantic comedy’ syndrome where it is all about sex and, namely, having it before a certain time limit is up.

Early last year, Fox ordered a new romantic comedy, Us & Them, for the 2013-14 season. In October, the network cancelled the show and shut down production after six episodes.

Word was that they were unhappy with the direction of the series and planned to burn off the produced episodes this summer. Now, TVLine reports that the sitcom won't ever air on the network. No reason for the decision was given.

Based on the British series Gavin & Stacey, Us & Them is a single-camera ensemble comedy that follows a pair of young lovers (Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel) whose relationship is complicated by their each having an unusual group of friends. The rest of the cast includes Ashlie Atkinson, Dustin Ybarra, Jane Kaczmarek, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Kurt Fuller.

Fox has one of its better slates coming your way with the new season, especially if you take the midseason shows into account. Some of these shows may not jump out at you now as must-see, but some of them are going to take over, if I’m any judge anyway.

Clear showcase offerings Dads, Almost Human, and Us & Them are guaranteed to take off early. Almost Human has J.J. Abrams recognition to pull people in, though it looks to be a show that could flounder after a few episodes, even if I hope it doesn’t. The other two are going to become hits. Unfortunately, we have to wait until mid-season for the Gavin & Stacey remake.

Rake also looks like a winner, as long as the translation can be made to work as an Americanized product, and the show actually delivers what made the Australian original so brilliant.

The first pictures from the Us remake of Gavin & Stacey have been unveiled.

Us & Them - from Sony Pictures Television - was picked up to series by Fox last night (May 8).

Jason Ritter (Parenthood) and Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) will play Gavin and Stacey in the comedy series.

Also starring are stand-up comic Dustin Ybarra as Smithy and Malcolm in the Middle star Jane Kaczmarek as Pam.

Gavin & Stacey stars and co-creators James Corden and Ruth Jones will serve as executive producers on Us & Them.

Sony Pictures Television is the studio behind the Us adaptation and will also be distributing the series internationally, including in the UK. BBC Worldwide will collaborate with the studio on the show.

Piggybacking on Wednesday’s drama pickups, Fox has ordered five new comedy series for the 2013-14 season, including the Jason Ritter/Alexis Bledel romantic satire Us & Them (fka Friends & Family) and the Andy Samberg-fronted sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Also receiving series orders from the network are the military-themed Enlisted, Chris Meloni’s Surviving Jack and Seth MacFarlane’s previously-greenlit live-action sitcom Dads.

Among the noteworthy comedy pilots not getting the go-ahead from Fox: Rob Riggle’s Gabriels and the Kelli Garner starrer Two Wrongs. (Fox’s complete development slate can be found here.)

Malcolm in the Middle star Jane Kaczmarek has joined the Us Gavin & Stacey remake.

The Fox pilot - retitled Friends & Family - will star Jason Ritter (Parenthood) and Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) as the two leads.

Kaczmarek will play Pam, the overbearing mother of Ritter's character Gavin, TVLine reports.

The 57-year-old actress is best known for playing another overbearing mother - Lois on Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, which ran from 2000 to 2006 on Fox.

Also cast in Friends & Family is Dustin Ybarra, who was previously linked to a Us remake of BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses.

James Corden and Ruth Jones - who co-created the original Gavin & Stacey and also starred in the series - will serve as executive producers on the Us remake.

Jane Kaczmarek is the final series regular to join Fox’s Friends & Family pilot, TVLine has learned.

The single-camera project is an adaptation of the British comedy Gavin & Stacey, which follows two very different lovers who try to make a long-distance relationship work.

The project is written by David Rosen (I Just Want My Pants Back), with Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner, Henry Normal and Gavin & Stacey creators James Corden and Ruth Jones also serving as EPs.

The film "21 & Over" has the sensibilities of the west, but at its core, it carries sentimental messages of friendship. It's about three friends bonding, very much akin to Abhishek Kapoora's desi film "Kai Po Che!".

There are so many similarities between the two films that revealing the parallels.
