    • Michael McQuain has been acting since 2006 after a long career as an award-winning local television anchorman/reporter. His first appearance in film was a background appearance in 2007's High School Musical 2 as a wealthy college booster.

      McQuain was born to Marilyn (Blackburn), a secretary, and Gerald McQuain, an engineering executive, in 1956 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He traces his family roots back to England and Scotland.

      Michael was raised in Alhambra, California and attended Alhambra High School (1974) where he was involved in football, choir and drama. After graduating, he enrolled at Brigham Young University where he majored in Broadcast Journalism (1982).

      McQuain's TV news reporting/sportscasting career included stops in Boise, Las Vegas and Seattle. In addition to his work on local news teams, he also freelanced as a reporter/producer for ESPN, CNN Sports, ABC, NBC and CBS.

Trivia

  • Lived in Toulouse and Bordeaux France for two years performing voluntary missionary service for the LDS Church.
  • Had a brief second career as a flight attendant for United Airlines before a back injury grounded him.
  • Sang in a capella choirs and madrigals in high school and sang in a Program Bureau group called Celebration his freshman year at BYU. Had professional vocal training in North Hollywood from the man who coached Jim Pike of The Lettermen.
  • Aspires to appear as a featured extra on NCIS and be in a scene with Mark Harmon.
