Lemonade Blessing” (2025) revolves around the geeky teenager archetype we have seen plenty of times in American cinema. Think of Jason Schwartzman’s character from “Rushmore,” who falls in love with his teacher and naively believes that she is his soulmate. He is ready to go to any lengths, even if it means standing up against her partner. Anderson has made a career out of following similarly awkward and oftentimes socially reserved young characters who learn to grow out of their insecurities for love. Michael Cera and Jesse Eisenberg have played different shades of this exact character, whose social awkwardness often defines them.
Coincidentally, the star of “Lemonade Blessing,” Jake Ryan, comes from the Wes Anderson school of acting. After being in Anderson’s “Asteroid City” and “Moonrise Kingdom,” Ryan returns in a similarly zany comedy-drama as John Santucci, a socially inept teenager in constant crisis mode. He is a child of divorce,...

Two genre-driven thrillers have surfaced on digital platforms this week, both released by Signature Entertainment. The first is Fear Below, a period-set aquatic survival film blending mid-century crime and nature horror, and the second is It Feeds, a supernatural possession story centred on generational trauma and unseen terror. Though markedly different in tone and style, both films mark distinctive entries in their respective subgenres, offering audiences immediate access to contemporary independent horror.
Fear Below, directed by Matthew Holmes, is set in 1946 and unfolds in the remote waterways of the Australian outback. A group of professional divers, hired under mysterious circumstances to recover a sunken vehicle, quickly learn that their true objective is not salvage work but the retrieval of stolen gold. The vehicle belonged to a group of bank robbers, now employing the divers to discreetly recover the wreckage. However, the waters they’ve entered are occupied by a territorial bull shark,...

In the typical shark horror film, unsuspecting swimmers are attacked in oceans by a great white shark, or at least something resembling one. But, in Matthew Holmes’ new film Fear Below, he’s tackling the even more dangerous bull shark as a group of criminals try to rescue their gold from a river. Yes, bull sharks can, in fact, swim in rivers. To celebrate the upcoming release, we have an exclusive clip from the film teasing just how aggressive this shark is.
In the film:
When a gang of ruthless criminals loses their stolen gold in a river, they turn to a team of desperate, down-on-their-luck divers to retrieve it. What begins as a high-stakes recovery mission quickly spirals when the divers soon find themselves in the company of a vicious bull shark, but the dangers in the water are only a fraction of the dangers that wait for them above.

Signature Entertainment has unveiled the UK trailer for Fear Below, a river-set horror thriller with teeth, set to sink its jaws into digital platforms and DVD from 9 June. Directed by Matthew Holmes (The Legend of Ben Hall) and starring Hermione Corfield (Sea Fever), the period-set chiller blends the sweat and steel of postwar noir with the cold-blooded menace of nature’s most efficient predator.
Set in 1946 in the rugged wilds of the Australian outback, Fear Below follows the Sea Dog Diving Company, a struggling outfit of professional divers hired to recover a sunken vehicle from the bottom of a murky river. But what should be a routine salvage job quickly descends into chaos, as the divers find themselves stalked by a female bull shark with a mean territorial streak and an appetite for warm flesh. The threat beneath the surface, however, is only part of the problem.

Prime Video's hit Reacher is in the middle of its third season. As with the previous seasons, the new outing brings a host of new main characters. One of these is rug importer Zachary Beck, who offers Reacher a job after he saves Beck's son Richard. Beck is played by Anthony Michael Hall, who's enjoyed a nearly 40-year career in the industry.

This article contains spoilers for "Reacher" Season 3.
One of the recurring aspects of "Reacher," apart from bad guys with short lifespans, is middlemen who get involved with the wrong people. In Season 3, this position is filled by Bizarre Bazaar CEO Zachary Beck, who has already seen his family suffer at the hands of his "business partner," Julius McCabe, formerly known as Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee). To make matters worse, all this corruption and illegal activity has caught the attention of DEA agent Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy), who, following a botched undercover operation, sends in our boy Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) to keep tabs on what's happening. After Reacher poses as potential muscle for the businessman, Beck's world soon gets turned upside down as traitorous activity begins to reveal itself, deals go south, and the bad guys closest to him end up very, very dead.

About two months after adding new stars to Territory, the upcoming Yellowstone-like Australian series, Netflix has released a trailer for the production, which is set to premiere next month. The trailer showcases much of the shows main characters in action, including Anna Torv (The Last of Us) as Emily Lawson, Michael Dorman (For All Mankind) as Graham Lawson, Robert Taylor (Longmire) as Colin Lawson and Sam Corlett (Vikings: Valhalla) as Marshall Lawson. This bunch forms part of the Lawson family, who are apparently entitled to inherit the rights to Marianne Station, the worlds largest cattle station in Territory, following the death of Daniel Lawson (Jake Ryan), a major Australian cattle baron.

"The Mick" creators and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" writers Dave and John Chernin made their feature directorial debut with "Incoming," a coming-of-age sex comedy for Netflix about a group of incoming freshmen attending their first high school party. It's a raucous, raunchy, ridiculous night of debauchery featuring a 14-year-old running a control room of spy cams, plenty of upperclassmen making the beast with two backs in random open bedrooms, a science teacher desperately trying to appear cool by taking shots of Fireball and ripping bongs with students, fist fights leading to broken noses, accidentally falling into a K-hole, running from the cops, and drunkenly sharting out a night's worth of Taco Bell binge-eating.
"Incoming" is an attempt to merge the tradition of beloved high school stories with the over-the-top screwball sex comedies of the 1970s and '80s, and when it works, it really works. Similar to recent high...

The surviving cast of Sixteen Candles have gone in many different directions since the release of the 1984 teen movie. Many members of the main cast are still acting, including prominent Brat Pack members Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall. Molly Ringwald appeared on Marc Maron’s “Wtf” podcast (via People magazine) and revealed that she’s tried to convince her 20-year-old daughter not to become an actor because of how difficult it is for young women in Hollywood. Ringwald, an icon of 1980s teen movies thanks to roles in “The Breakfast Club,” “Pretty in Pink” and more, said she was taken advantage of as a young actor — and that it’s nearly impossible not to be as a woman growing up in Hollywood.
“I never really felt like I was part of a community when I was in Hollywood, just because I was so young, really,” Ringwald said. “I wasn’t into going out to clubs. I feel like I’m more social now than I was then. I was just too young.”

A spokesperson for the Roku Chanel, which released Chad’s second season, confirmed to Deadline that the streamer will not be proceeding with future seasons.
Roku originally had committed to taking on the finished but unaired second season of Chad (along with Season 1 repeats), so a Season 3 was considered a long shot but a possibility. It is now not happening, officially ending the show’s wild ride.
Chad‘s origins date back more than eight years when SNL alumna Pedrad started developing the comedy for Fox. The broadcast network picked up the half-hour, starring Pedrad as teen Persian-American boy Chad Amani, to pilot in February 2016.

A star-stacked cast fails to rescue a dull script in Accidental Texan, based on the novel Chocolate Lizards. The predictable plot and forced pathos overshadow the endearing friendship between Erwin and Merle in the movie. The lack of excitement and forgettable conflict make Accidental Texan an easily overlooked movie.
Accidental Texan features impressive names — Rudy Pankow as Erwin Vandeveer, Thomas Haden Church as Merle Luskey, Carrie-Anne Moss as Faye, and Bruce Dern as Scheermeyer — but the star-studded cast isn't enough to bring life to the movie's dull script. The comedy-drama, directed by Mark Lambert Bristol and written by Julie B. Denny, is based on Cole Thompson's 1999 novel Chocolate Lizards. The film, which premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival in April 2023, tells the story of a city boy who unexpectedly ends up in a small Texas town following a series of unfortunate events.

"This acting, this was always your dream?" Roadside Attractions has revealed an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Accidental Texan, made by storyboard artist / filmmaker Mark Lambert Bristol. Obviously enough, this originally premiered at the 2023 Dallas Film Festival last year, with a stop at the Heartland Film Festival in Indiana as well. The film is adapted from a novel called "Chocolate Lizards", which was the original title for this before they changed it to Accidental Texan. Fresh-faced actor Erwin finds himself stranded in Texas after a film shoot gone wrong, where he's taken under the wing of a nearly bankrupt oil driller. They set off on a wild Texas adventure to outwit a corrupt oil company to hit pay dirt before Merle's dreams are foreclosed, partnering with a kind waitress along the way. The ensemble cast features Rudy Pankow as Erwin, Carrie-Anne Moss as Faye, Thomas Haden Church as Merle,...

"Something happened, and he came back as a different person." Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for a crime thriller titled Kane from Australia, opening in the US soon this fall. Haven't heard much about this one, yet another mediocre crime thriller getting thrown into the "content" pile this year. Benny works for old school crime boss Abe, though Abe has multiple personalities and is in a gang war with the notorious Frankie. Kane is the deadliest of Abe's personalities, and the next 24 hours will be a killer. Today is a good day to die. "Kane is a gripping dark thriller that explores the blurred lines of loyalty and identity." The split personalities twist in this is so uninteresting, doesn't seem they know what to do with it. Kane stars Jeremy Lindsay Taylor, Jake Ryan, Clayton Watson, Nathan Phillips, Tammin Sursok, Holly Brisley, and Peter O'Hanlon as Big Stan.

Wes Anderson is one of the rare filmmakers whose style is a genre in itself. Similar to directors like Quentin Tarantino or David Fincher, his style is so distinctive that even those who don’t appreciate his aesthetics have to acknowledge how unique they are. Anderson may be easy to mock because of his popularity among younger filmgoers, but his track record up until now has been rock solid. After 11 films and several short projects, Anderson has yet to produce a bad movie.
It’s interesting to see how Anderson has matured with his later films, as each film represents a different step within his growth. Rushmore and Bottle Rocket are definitely coming-of-age stories, but Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou all represented moments where Anderson was reflecting upon his past and the nature of family. ‘Asteroid City‘ is directed by Wes Anderson and stars Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Hanks, among others.
This film is all about style, and more than just style: it’s a powerful statement of style that encapsulates a seemingly trivial yet insightful and intuitive message.
Some say that only fools like Wes Anderson, but I must confess that this retro fable about nothing has delighted me.
Movie Review
Just based on the visuals, the Looney Tunes-inspired treatment, the framing, and the entire parody of cinema within cinema, ‘Asteroid City’ is worth it. And when I say it’s worth it, I mean that you haven’t seen anything like it, including other films by the director. Whether we like it or not, the cinematography is daring, brutally stylish, and brilliant, in a way that only Wes Anderson can achieve.
Is Wes Anderson copying himself? Definitely, and Wes Anderson...
