Fred Gaines Jr began stage acting in junior high school and senior high school in suburban Philadelphia, where he was cast in lead roles in a number of well-known plays including "The Glass Menagerie" (Tom Wingfield) and "Death of a Salesman" (Willie Loman"). He attended Penn State University and earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a Major in Operations Management; taking two classes in theatre arts (which he both earned "A" grades). Fred worked in the aerospace, automotive, and consumer products industries. He also worked in municipal and small government. Fred earned a Master of Management in Business Administration from Penn State University while working full-time.
Moved to San Diego, CA and returned to acting after a 26-year hiatus in 2009 in television and film. To own his craft, he added lead roles to his resume in community theatre including the stage version of "It's a Wonderful Life" (George Bailey) and "Annie Get Your Gun" (Frank Butler). This on-hands training helped hone his craft. He returned to television in film and TV, as well as emcee and hosting gigs.
