Enrica Sciandrone
- Composer
- Music Department
Enrica studied piano and composition in her native Italy, and composition for screen at the Royal College of Music in London. Since 2009 she has been living in London, and working successfully in the film music industry.
She has composed the soundtracks for several films, documentaries, animations and production libraries (Cavendish, KPM, Sonoton). Enrica has worked with BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Rob Lane as additional composer on A Discovery of Witches III (2022, Sky), The Winter King (2023, ITVx), and with Nainita Desai for the ten-part series Nautilus (2024, AMC/Prime). Other music department credits include Wrath of the Titans (2012), Zhongkui (2014), Raoul Taburin (2018) as assistant to Emmy award winning Javier Navarrete, Life (2017) and Mowgli (2018) as assistant to renowned orchestrator Nicholas Dodd.
Enrica won first prize at the III Premio Petrassi International Composition Competition in 2009, with Ennio Morricone leading the jury. Other awards include the 2012 Peer Raben Award at Soundtrack Cologne, the 2014 ISFMF Awards, with John Corigliano as head of the jury, and a nomination for the prestigious SABAM Award for young composer at the Word Soundtrack Awards in Ghent (2016). She is an alumni and RMALA grant recipient of the 2012 ASCAP TV and film scoring workshop with Richard Bellis, recording with the Hollywood Studio Orchestra at Fox Studios, Los Angeles.
Enrica defines herself as a composer crossing the boundaries between film and concert music; her style is identified by lush melodies and, when not kidnapped by her fascination with the orchestra, interesting blends of acoustic and electronic sounds, always with a strong passion for exploring what live performers could bring to the music.
