This article contains spoilers for Black Mirror's "Demon 79" episode.Charlie Brooker promised that Black Mirror season six will have some shocking storylines that will deviate the series from the traditional format, in which the plot mostly revolves around technology and the usage of futuristic devices. Nida is a sales associate who summons the demon by mistake when she is on her lunch break in a secluded area. Gaap tells Nida that she must commit three murders in three days, or the world will end.

Generally, anthology shows should tell independent stories, and Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror – in its best episodes – offers some all-timers. Each episode centers around unique tales that mostly show the implications of technological advancements. However, several Easter eggs throughout the series suggest that all the events might be connected.
Season 6, specifically, is littered with shout-outs to several other plots. There is a possibility that they will all lead to a major reveal in the future since when he asked about it in the past, Brooker appeared to confirm a connection, stating, "I think the rule is that when a character says something that explicitly refers to something else, it's canonical."

The following contains spoilers for Black Mirror Season 6, Episode 5, "Demon 79," now streaming on Netflix.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Black Mirror Season 6 is how the series veers away from the typical stories where technology is presented in a negative light. Sure, a few episodes still lean into this double-edged sword with humanity. But the final two episodes are straight-up horror tales, with "Mazey Day" dealing with a werewolf.
"Demon 79" closes out the season with Anjana Vasan's Nida as a shoe sales assistant in 1979 England in a xenophobic society. However, she soon becomes tethered to a demon and embarks on a deadly quest to stop the apocalypse. In the process, Nida breaks her morals and ethics, harnessing all the rage she's held within over the years.

This article contains spoilers for the Black Mirror episode “Demon 79.”
Black Mirror Season 6 Episode 5
Here’s another dubiously happy ending to add to Black Mirror’s growing pile: Girl summons demon, girl fails to commit the required number of human sacrifices to avert the apocalypse, demon asks her to spend eternity with him cast into a matterless void, girl says she’ll give it a go.
A matterless void, as protagonist Nida (Anjana Vasan) dryly notes, isn’t a million miles away from the life she was leading at the start of “Demon 79”, which was co-written by Charlie Brooker with new exec producer, Ms. Marvel and Loki’s Bisha K. Ali.
A young Anglo-Indian woman living alone in a drab flat, working a thankless department store job and having to wordlessly absorb the drip-drip-drip of ambient racism in 1979 Britain, Nida’s world didn’t have much to recommend it.
Enter: Satanic minion Gaap.

After four years, “Black Mirror” is back for Season 6 and considering it’s the premiere destination for storytelling that comes swinging at big tech, it was only a matter of time before it took aim at the streaming industry. Season 6 comes out of the gate hitting directly at Netflix — the streamer in which it airs — with the arrival of the Streamberry app in the hyper-meta episode “Joan Is Awful.” And hoo boy, does Streamberry shake up the current understanding of the “Black Mirror” universe.
Not least of all because the Streamberry homepage is jam-packed with familiar titles that reference episodes from every season of “Black Mirror.” Some of the shots go by in a hurry, and not everyone has time to pause (over and over again) to obsess over the details, so we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to all the Easter Eggs, callbacks and references you’ll find in the Streamberry lineup.

Black Mirror season 6 saved some of the best actors in its ensemble for the cast of the finale episode, “Demon 79.” Set in Northern England in the titular year, “Demon 79” is a horror-styled episode of Black Mirror in which a timid sales assistant is tasked with committing unspeakable acts in order to prevent a catastrophe. Stylistically, the episode is modeled after classic Italian giallo films from legendary directors like Dario Argento. “Demon 79” is written by series creator Charlie Brooker and Ms. Marvel head writer Bisha K. Ali and directed by Toby Haynes, who previously helmed the acclaimed Black Mirror season 4 premiere episode, “USS Callister.”
As the anthology series’ profile continues to rise, the cast of every new season of Black Mirror is more star-studded than the last. From Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul to Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy to House of Cards’ Kate Mara, the cast of Black Mirror season 6 is full of huge names.
