Joseph Brocato

Joseph Snell Brocato was born in Atlanta, GA to Martha (Snell) and Henry Brocato. His father is of French and Sicilian descent, and his mother is of German and English ancestry. After graduation from Henderson High School in Atlanta, Joe majored in psychology at GA State University before leaving to attend The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City, and he also holds a bachelor's degree from UMass-Amherst. While beginning his career on the stage, he went on to direct a variety of Off-Broadway productions and co-founded Legend Productions, a non profit Off-Broadway theatre company, that produced stage plays about prevalent social and economic issues, including the critically acclaimed staging of El Salvador by Rafael Lima.

In 2002, Brocato and his wife, Christina Brocato, moved to Los Angeles, CA where they reside with their two children. He is the owner and co-founder of the motion picture production company Unlikely Hero Productions, LLC and is best known as the producer and director for Breaking: Los Angeles (2013) distributed by MVD Entertainment Group (DVD), Sony's The Orchard (digital), and EyeFilm Releasing. Brocato also served as the executive producer for the multi-award winning documentary My Name Was Bette: The Life and Death of an Alcoholic (2011).

Besides working in film, Brocato has produced numerous radio shows on entrepreneurship for LA Talk Radio and he writes business management and leadership articles published in financial-industry journals.
