Jose Miguel was born in Lima, Peru, on April 8th, 1979.
He learned to play guitar at 13, and actually wanted to become a professional guitar player, but later declined this idea, and decided to study Philosophy, in which he has a Major.
On 2000, he played the role of Jesus on "Jesus Christ Superstar"'s Peruvian cast.
After having some small early appearances on TV, which included series, commercials and soap operas, he finally had his breakthrough role in Francisco J. Lombardi's movie "Un Cuerpo Desnudo" ("A Naked Body") (2009), in which he played Coraza, a bank employee deeply fond of cards and drinking, who hides a twisted dark side.
For his performance of Coraza, Jose Miguel was nominated for "Best Leading Actor in a Movie" by Peruvian press, and was considered one of the biggest revelations on Peruvian's silver screen.
