James Chick(I)

James Chick was born and raised in the greater Portland Oregon area. His love of film started at a young age like many kids of the 80's and 90's when he got his hands on his dads VHS camera. After graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in New Media Communications (don't ask him what that means) he started working in advertising. After working in multiple markets across Oregon and dabbling in News Production he started his official career in the VFX world. From 2011-2016 he worked at a VFX house in Portland Oregon, Hive-FX, where he eventually led the compositing team on the hit NBC show Grimm. This is where he learned how to lead a team, meet deadlines, and work with large companies such as NBC, Nike and Adidas. In 2017 James' life took a drastic turn, he and his wife sold their house and hit the road with their two young kids. They traveled around the United States for 3 years documenting their travels on YouTube. After settling down back in the PNW, James focused his energy back onto his true passion, filmmaking. After working on multiple indie features over the course of three years he finally decided to write and direct his first feature, Feet of Death. Feet of death was shot in 2023 and released in 2024.
