Well over a year after it aired on SyFy, the Drew Daywalt-directed Red Clover (aka Leprechaun's Revenge) is making its way to DVD under the After Dark Original banner.

Billy Zane, William Devane, Kelly Washington, Courtney Halverson, Azure Parsons, Matty Ferraro and Kevin Mangold star.  Why the film carries two titles, we don't know, but you can find it on DVD October 22nd.  You'll find the cover art after the jump.

SyFy's 'Red Clover' (Aka 'Leprechaun's Revenge') is finally heading to DVD and onto VOD simultaneously from 22 October courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment. The project, which was helmed by Drew Daywalt and penned by Anthony C. Ferrante ('House of Bones') will be presented by After Dark Films and as stated will land in stores and on the small screen just in time for Halloween. On Saturday, March 17th, Syfy is set to debut Drew Daywalt’s latest feature film, Leprechaun’s Revenge, and in honor of the occasion Dread Central recently had the chance to catch up with Daywalt to get the lowdown on the project.

In our interview Daywalt discusses working on Leprechaun’s Revenge, explains the challenges and importance of making a "practical" creature feature and sets the record straight on the film’s recent title change as well.

A trailer for Syfy’s latest monster romp, Leprechaun’S Revenge, arrived today, giving us a first look at the titular gold hoarder. As you can see in a still below, this leprechaun is a definite departure from the wee menace made famous by Warwick Davis. Leprechaun’S Revenge was directed by Drew Daywalt, written by Anthony (Boo) Ferrante, and stars Billy Zane, William Devane, Kelly Washington, Courtney Halverson, Azure Parsons, Matty Ferraro, and Kevin Mangold as the leprechaun.

You only get a few creature shots here and there in this piece, but it readily shows off its ensemble and SyFy charm. SyFy's latest creature, Leprechaun's Revenge, is coming - of course - on March 17th and the first trailer has been released.

Starring Billy Zane and William Devane, the story picks up days before the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. A teenage girl unwittingly unleashes a murderous leprechaun upon the citizens of a small town. The creature goes on a violent rampage, slaughtering descendants of the original settlers who stole its gold. Now the girl and her family have four days to kill the leprechaun – otherwise she will die from the leprechaun curse.

Leprechaun’s Revenge is a production of After Dark Films and was scripted by Anthony C. Ferrante (Scream of the Banshee). Kelly Washington, Courtney Halverson, Azure Parsons, Matty Ferraro and Kevin Mangold also star.

Drew Daywalt directs and, honestly, this looks like it's a cut above the usual SyFy fare.

Back last October the Afm had listed the intriguingly entitled SyFy production 'Leprecahn' to their site. Most likely due to a spelling error the Drew Daywalt directed project was soon touting a seemingly endless range of alternative titles. Soon thereafter it became 'Red Clover' and then 'St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun' and then finally decided to settle on 'Leprechaun's Revenge'. The movie has no ties to the 'Leprechaun' horror franchise that stars Warwick Davis ('Life's Too Short') but will premiere on SyFy next month on Saturday, 17 March at 9pm - St Patrick's Day. Director, and our own resident blogger, Drew Daywalt is busy in post-production editing his next film, Red Clover. IMDb refers to the movie as St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun, and while that may not be the film's final title, the website has announced the cast, which includes a few genre favorites. While the world continues to wonder if Warwick Davis will ever don his leprechaun garb again, After Dark Originals and Syfy are teaming up to bring a different killer leprechaun to life in Red Clover. Billy Zane and William Devane better stock up on Lucky Charms cereal pronto.

This Syfy flick originally titled both St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun and just simply Leprechaun (or Leprecahn as the American Film Market website initially misspelled it) has now undergone yet another title change to Red Clover, as was just announced by director Drew Daywalt on his Facebook page.

Daywalt is best known for a series of horror short films and for having directed a few episodes of MTV’s “Death Valley”. Red Clover will mark his first foray into feature filmmaking. The script was penned by fellow horror filmmaker Anthony C. Ferrante (Boo!, Scream of the Banshee).
