Taraji P. Henson & Sam Rockwell in First 'The Best of Enemies' Trailer
"They say you represent a great many people in this town..." Stx has debuted the first trailer for a drama titled The Best of Enemies, marking the feature directorial debut of producer Robin Bissell. Not to be confused with the excellent documentary also titled The Best of Enemies about Gore vs Vidal, this film is about two other different friends from America's history. The film tells the story of a rivalry, and friendship, between the local Ku Klux Klan leader in Durham, North Carolina played by Sam Rockwell, and a civil rights activist named Ann Atwater, played by Taraji P. Henson. The full cast includes Wes Bentley, Anne Heche, Sope Aluko, John Gallagher Jr., Nick Searcy, and Caitlin Mehner. This looks much better than expected, some fire & passion in these folks and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Robin Bissell's The Best of Enemies,...

Sope Aluko at Wakanda Forever World Premiere
Venom Brings in Black Panther Actress Sope Aluko
Sope Aluko at Wakanda Forever World Premiere
Actress Sope Aluko has officially joined the cast of Sony's Venom movie. The Black Panther star has landed a role opposite Tom Hardy in the Spider-Man spin-off about the Marvel Comics villain turned antihero, which also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. Marvel fans were shocked to see a teaser trailer for Venom last month, especially since production had just wrapped. And it was met with mixed reviews (to put it lightly). However, we're still 7 months away from seeing the final cut, so that should give Ruben Fleischer plenty of time to edit and do reshoots.

Sope Aluko was last seen on the big screen as the Shaman in Marvel's Black Panther, which is still number one at the box office as of this writing. Her character in Venom has yet to be revealed, but we'll find out soon when reshoots start to come together.

Sony’s Venom Casts Black Panther Actress in Mystery Role
Sony’s Venom movie has added Black Panther actress Sope Aluko to the cast in a mystery role. Aluko played the character credited only as “Shaman” in the Ryan Coogler-directed blockbuster, portraying a Wakandan spiritual leader who learns under the older, wiser Zuri (Forest Whitaker). Her role in Venom, however, is a mystery to this point. And it remains unclear whether it relates at all to Black Panther or the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sope Aluko at Wakanda Forever World Premiere
Black Panther's Sope Aluko Takes the E!Q
Sope Aluko at Wakanda Forever World Premiere
We don't think we're jinxing anything to say that Sope Aluko's latest movie is going to be a monster hit. Even before raking in a record-breaking $25.2 million from Thursday previews, the biggest amount ever for a non-sequel film, Black Panther has been the talk of Hollywood and beyond for weeks. Director Ryan Coogler's take on the Marvel Comics character, starring Chadwick Boseman as the titular superhero, has a 98 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and analysts are predicting it could bring in around $160 million over the long President's Day weekend. Needless to say, Aluko is pretty psyched to be a part of the phenomenon. "The celebration for my family started...

Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman, Michael B. Jordan, Andy Serkis, Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong'o, Daniel Kaluuya, and Letitia Wright in Black Panther (2018)
At the movie's premiere, stars of Black Panther had varied thoughts on which superpower from the Marvel universe they'd most want as their own.

“I’d wish I could be invisible so I can see everything that’s going on behind my back,” Black Panther’s Sope Aluko said. "Be a fly on the wall. A fly would be great. Get from one place to another really quickly."

Denzel Whitaker, who plays young Zuri in the film, replied, “Teleportation because the world is about accessibility, it’s about convenience. If you can be somewhere quickly you can do a whole bunch of things.”

According to A...

Angela Bassett's Stylist on Her Showstopping Black Panther Look: 'I Want to Change Perceptions of What a 59-Year-Old Should Wear!'
Angela Bassett
There were so many showstopping fashion moments on the Black Panther purple carpet that for one star to truly stand out would require an almost superhuman sense of style. And that description certainly applies to Angela Bassett. The actress, who plays Ramonda, the Queen of Wakanda, in the hotly-anticipated new Marvel movie, practically shut down the entire event when she showed up in her fully fringed, sunshine-yellow Naeem Khan jumpsuit, accessorized with LeSilla shoes, a custom Thalé Blanc panther-motif clutch and jewelry by Gismondi 1754, One Six, Darrell Roach and Dorrian. Costar Daniel Kaluuya said it best when he saw her: “Look at this queen,...

Venom Trailer, Release Date, Story, News and More
Joseph Baxter Sep 27, 2018

Here's everything you need to know about the Venom movie, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock.

Tom Hardy's Venom movie arrives in October. The original plan was for it to tie into Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, but that's no longer the case. Venom, a character best known via his original Eddie Brock alter-ego, first appeared in Marvel Comics’ The Amazing Spider-Man #299 and was created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane in 1988. He was first played onscreen by Topher Grace in 2007’s Spider-Man 3.

Ruben Fleischer, best known for Zombieland (and 30 Minutes or Less,) is directing. Screenwriter Kelly Marcel worked on the script with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Black Panther composer Ludwig Goransson will provide the score.

While the film was expected to follow in the highly successful R-rated superhero footsteps of Fox-Marvel movies such as Deadpool and Logan, word is that...
