‘Project Runway’ Season 21 Welcomes Back Christian Siriano and Nina Garcia
Image
Project Runway season 21’s Heidi Klum, Christian Siriano, Law Roach, and Nina Garcia

Host Heidi Klum will be joined by Project Runway veterans Christian Siriano and Nina Garcia on the show’s upcoming season 21. The new season, currently in production, also welcomes new judge and image architect Law Roach.

Season 21 is targeting a summer premiere on Freeform, Disney+, and Hulu.

Siriano is on board to serve as a mentor, and Garcia, who has been with the series since 2004, returns as a judge. Disney+, Hulu, and Freeform offered this description of Project Runway newcomer Law Roach: “Image architect Law Roach is known for transforming celebrities into fashion icons. He has worked with such celebrities as Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Celine Dion, Tom Holland, and many more. Some of Roach’s many accomplishments include being named the most powerful stylist by The Hollywood Reporter in both 2021 and 2022, the West Coast fashion contributing editor of British Vogue,...

Heidi Klum to Return to ‘Project Runway’
Image
Heidi Klum is returning to Project Runway, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Klum and former co-host Tim Gunn in September 2018 announced they were leaving Project Runway after 16 seasons together as the series returned to Bravo. “After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create,” Klum said in a statement at the time.

The pop culture duo of Klum and Gunn eventually launched Making the Cut as a global fashion show on Amazon in 2020. The unscripted series from Amazon Studios tracked 12 entrepreneurs and designers competing to become “the next big global phenomenon” for a $1 million prize to invest in their business.

Klum’s return to Project Runway follows rotating platforms for the fashion reality show. Project Runway started its run on the NBCUniversal-owned Bravo in 2004. The series then moved from Bravo to Lifetime, where it ran for 11 additional seasons.

‘Project Runway’ to Launch African Edition in 2025
Image
Africa is getting its own Project Runway.

A new edition of the hit fashion design competition show, Project Runway Africa, is set to launch next year, showcasing emerging African designer talent from across the continent.

Takeout Media and What Network will produce the African version of the show through their single-purpose vehicle Take Two Media, which licensed the format from global producer and distributor Fremantle.

“This isn’t just a television show, it’s a cultural moment,” said Project Runway Africa co-executive producer Chichi Nwoko, saying the show would highlight Africa’s rapidly evolving fashion ecosystem and present designers with an opportunity for expert mentorship.

“Africa’s fashion industry is one of the fastest-growing in the world, fueled by a dynamic, young audience and rich cultural influences,” said Nwoko. “With Project Runway Africa, we’re creating a platform that celebrates the continent’s boundless creativity, empowering designers to bring their...

‘Project Runway’ Renewed for Season 21, Moves From Bravo to Disney
Image
“Project Runway” is making it work, returning for Season 21 and moving from Bravo to Disney.

The fashion competition series will air on the Disney-owned Freeform network before being available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu. Debuting sometime in 2025, Season 21 will consist of 10 episodes, aired weekly.

Freeform closed an agreement with Spyglass Media Group, producers of “Project Runway” since Season 17, to bring the show over from the NBCUniversal-owned Bravo network.

A host, judges and premiere date have yet to be announced.

Since debuting on Bravo in 2004, “Project Runway” has bounced between networks, producers and hosts. Heidi Klum hosted the series for its first 16 seasons, with Tim Gunn serving as the designers’ mentor. They both left “Project Runway” in 2018 to lead their own fashion competition show, “Making the Cut,” on Amazon Prime Video. Karlie Kloss took over hosting duties of “Project Runway” for the next two seasons, with Season 4 winner Christian Siriano serving as mentor.

New ‘Project Runway’ Season Lands at Disney
Image
The fate of Project Runway has been decided: Freeform is bringing the long-running Bravo reality TV series centered around fashion design back for season 21.

The TV network closed a deal with Spyglass Media Group for a new 10-episode run in 2025, with Disney+ and Hulu also to stream the series shortly after the premiere on Freeform.

“Project Runway is an iconic television juggernaut that perfectly complements the pop-culture spirit at Freeform,” Simran Sethi, president, scripted programming, Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, said in a statement on Thursday. The new season of Project Runway will be produced by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz from Alfred Street Industries.

Freeform will air the reality TV series weekly. Casting for a new host and judges is underway and will be announced at a future date.

‘Project Runway’ Moves From Bravo To Freeform; New Season Set For 2025
Image
Venerable fashion reality series Project Runway is on the move again, this time headed to Freeform. The Disney network has closed a deal with Spyglass Media Group to bring the reality competition back for a 10-episode new season in 2025.

Staying on for the Freeform incarnation of Project Runway are producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz from Alfred Street Industries. No host or judges are being announced yet for the series, which will air weekly on the network and will be available to stream shortly after on Disney+ and Hulu.

Project Runway was a breakout hit when it launched two decades ago on Bravo with Cutforth and Lipsitz (then of Magical Elves) as executive producers. After five highly-rated seasons on the NBCUniversal network from 2004-2008, the series moved to Lifetime in a blockbuster deal between the cable network and The Weinstein Company that triggered bitter litigation.

In May 2018, NBCUniversal announced at...

Project Runway Season 21: News, Potential Release Window, Potential Cast & Everything We Know
Image
Project Runway's future was uncertain after season 20, but it was later confirmed as renewed for season 21. Season 21 may premiere later in 2024 or extend into 2025, following the large gap between seasons 19 and 20. Season 20's cast, including judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth, could return for season 21 with new contestants.

Project Runway, which first premiered in 2004, has fans wondering if Bravo has pulled the plug on the popular reality TV competition after 20 years. The Emmy Award-winning show is the one that inspired countless others that came after it. The format was simple fashion designers competing against each other. Created by Eli Holzman, the show has launched some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Christian Siriano (he was the shows youngest winner), Chloe Dao, Leanne Marshall, and Irina Shabayeva. The latest winner in Project Runway season 20 was Bishme Cromartie, whod returned after installment 17.

Dmitry Sholokhov
Not everyone thinks Dmitry should have won ‘Project Runway All Stars,’ according to our poll results
Dmitry Sholokhov
Dmitry Sholokhov came this close to winning an unprecedented third “Project Runway” title (he previously won “Runway” season 10 and “All Stars” season 4), but he finished second during the all-champions edition of “All Stars,” ultimately losing the title to Michelle Lesniak. That set off a firestorm of protest in our comments from fans who thought Sholokhov clearly had the best collection. Indeed, when thousands of readers chimed in by voting in our poll it was Sholokhov who came out on top — but not by much. Despite the outrage, more than half of our respondents actually would have picked someone else to win. Scroll down for our complete poll results at the bottom of this post.

Sholokhov himself seemed to think he was robbed of the title. He thought his designs were “masterpieces” and there was no comparison between his work and Lesniak’s. And 43% of fans agreed with that assessment. But...

Was Dmitry robbed on ‘Project Runway All Stars’? Fans demand a recount after controversial finale
Dmitry Sholokhov
“I love Michelle, but you can’t compare what Michelle put out there, not technically, not creatively. My pieces were masterpieces,” said “Project Runway All Stars” runner-up Dmitry Sholokhov at the end of the season seven finale. Suffice it to say that Sholokhov didn’t take his defeat well when Michelle Lesniak was crowned the winner, and neither did a lot of our readers. The judges’ pick for the best designer in this all-champions season was controversial to say the least. Scroll down to see our complete poll results.

Sholokhov was undefeated coming into this season, having won “Runway” season 10 and then “All Stars” season 4. Lesniak won “Runway” season 11, and competed against Sholokhov in “All Stars” season 4, but she was eliminated right before the finale, which shattered her confidence. She wanted to win this world championship season as a way to give her career and self-esteem a boost and to...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ finale recap: Do you think the right designer won in ‘All the World’s a Runway’?
Dmitry Sholokhov
“It’s anybody’s game,” said Dmitry Sholokhov at the beginning of the “Project Runway All Stars” season finale. He had won the show twice before and was going for an unprecedented three-peat, but this season of “All Stars” featured nothing but past champions, so he was up against fellow Us winners Michelle Lesniak and Irina Shabayeva as well as Canadian “Runway” victor Evan Biddell. Who was named the “Runway” world champion at the end of the night?

The episode got off to an exciting start with the announcement of the final challenge. After weeks of unique, innovative and highly specific design tasks that ran the gamut from airplane materials to Willy Wonka inventions, the designers had no rules at all for their finale collections. Their mission was to take four days and a $3,000 budget to create six-look collections inspired by whatever theme they wanted. Essentially, their design objective could...

After narrowly escaping elimination last week, Project Runway All Stars‘ final four designers — Evan Biddell, Irina Shabayeva, Michelle Lesniak and Dmitry Sholokhov — faced off Wednesday for the newly minted titled of “World Champion.”

This time around, the designers were given more freedom than ever, challenged with creating a six-look collection in four days with a budget of $3,000. “The specific theme can be whatever you want,” host Alyssa Milano revealed, which seemed to please everyone. Let’s see how this all panned out…

Project Runway All Stars Season Finale: Who Will Win? And Who Should Win?
In just 12 short hours, Lifetime will make reality TV history, crowning the first-ever Project Runway All Stars “World Champion” in a dramatic season finale event 15 years in the making.

But which of the four remaining designers — Dmitry Sholokhov, Evan Biddell, Irina Shabayeva or Michelle Lesniak — deserves to take home the brand-new title, and which one is most likely to? (Come on, we’ve all seen enough finales to know that the “right” person doesn’t always win.)

Statistically speaking, any of the four finalists could finish on top. Evan, Irina and Michelle have each won two challenges this season, while...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ fans predict Irina Shabayeva Will win, but they think Evan Biddell Should win
Irina Shabayeva
“Project Runway All Stars” season seven started with 14 designers who had won a previous season of the fashion competition series, either in the Us or abroad. But it’s down to the final four, who in tonight’s finale will present their final collections for a chance to be crowned the champion of champions. So who’s out front? Interestingly, our pick for who will win is different from our readers’ choice for who should win.

Based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users, Irina Shabayeva will win. She gets leading odds of 31/20, and for good reason. She won two design challenges over the course of the season, and when she didn’t win she still tended to get high scores. She was the runner-up in six other challenges, which means that for two-thirds of the competition she was either first or second. She did also get three low scores from the judges,...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ twist: What did you think of the surprise elimination decision right before the finale? [Poll]
Evan Biddell
In the world of fashion, one day you’re in and the next you’re out. Unless you’re on “Project Runway All Stars,” in which case you’re just in. At the end of “Modern Families,” the penultimate episode of season seven, the judges had to decide which designer to eliminate before sending the final three to next week’s season finale. But they ultimately decided not to decide. Instead, they made the unorthodox choice to send all four of them to the finale. What did you think of that twist? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

Michelle Lesniak, Evan Biddell, Irina Shabayeva and Dmitry Sholokhov were all feeling the pressure. For the Canadian Biddell, advancing to the finale meant getting an opportunity to present an entire collection for the first time to the American “Runway” audience. For Lesniak it meant redemption...

Project Runway All Stars Recap: Which Designers Are Heading to the Finale?
Alyssa Milano
With only two episodes left this season, Wednesday’s Project Runway All Stars presented the remaining four designers with their greatest challenge yet — and not everyone rose to the occasion.

“Recently, what constitutes a family has been debated in society; families now come in all shapes and sizes,” Alyssa Milano told the group before explaining this week’s “family” challenge: “You will each be creating outfits for three members of a modern family. Your designs must be cohesive, because each of your families will take a portrait photo together, and that family portrait will be revealed to everyone on the runway.

‘Project Runway All Stars’ recap: Who advanced to the finale after Anne Fulenwider judged ‘Modern Families’? [Updating Live Blog]
Theo Stevenson, Amelia Clarkson, Akai Osei, Gamal Toseafa, and Fleur Houdijk in All Stars (2013)
There’s just one week left for “Project Runway All Stars” — maybe ever. The seventh season is ending soon, and with it ends the Lifetime era of the “Runway” franchise. So who won the penultimate challenge on the way to the finale, and who (if anyone) was eliminated just short of the finish line? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

The four semifinalists in this all-champions edition of “All Stars” were Evan Biddell (winner of Canadian “Runway” season 1), Michelle Lesniak (American “Runway” season 11), Irina Shabayeva (American “Runway” season 6) and Dmitry Sholokhov (American “Runway” season 10 and “All Stars” season 4). Tonight they were tasked with creating fashion for “Modern Families” in order to secure their places in the finale. And there was an added twist: Marie Claire editor-in-chief Anne Fulenwider, who is usually the designers’ mentor, joined the judges table this time to officially critique their looks.

‘Project Runway All Stars’ fans are pretty sure Irina Shabayeva Will win, but they’re not so sure she Should win
Irina Shabayeva
“Project Runway All Stars” season seven is coming down to the wire, so with only four contestants remaining in this all-champions edition of the fashion competition series, we asked fans who they think deserves to win. But that turned out to be a surprisingly difficult question, because while our readers are pretty sure they know who will win, there’s not nearly as much agreement on who should win. Scroll down for our complete poll results.

Irina Shabayeva is the designer our readers are rooting for the most, but that’s not saying much because she only got 28% of the vote, which is barely more than she statistically would have gotten if our respondents randomly picked a name out of a hat. It was damn near a tie between her and Evan Biddell (27%), while Dmitry Sholokhov (24%) and Michelle Lesniak (21%) trailed, but not by much. I myself had trouble deciding on...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ final 4: Who deserves to win? Biddell, Dmitry, Irina or Michelle? [Poll]
Evan Biddell
The seventh and final season of “Project Runway All Stars” (the final season on Lifetime at least) is nearing the end, and the competition is down to the final four. In this season consisting entirely of past “Runway” champions, the best of the best are Evan Biddell, Michelle Lesniak, Irina Shabayeva and Dmitry Sholokhov. Who among them do you think deserves to be crowned the champion of champions when all is said and done? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

In terms of who will win, the women seem to have the advantage on paper since they have won two design challenges each over the course of the season, while the two men have won only one apiece. Shabayeva in particular has been a judges’ favorite: she has been the winner or runner-up in seven challenges. But her bold aesthetic isn’t for everyone,...

Project Runway All Stars Recap: Whose Ball Gown Wasn't Fit to Be Thai'd?
Nina Garcia at an event for W.E. (2011)
Royal fever swept Wednesday’s Project Runway All Stars, which tasked the remaining five designers with creating ball gowns using luxurious silks. To elevate this experience, the challenge was presented by special guest judge Nina Garcia, a longtime member of Runway’s royal court.

And while tensions certainly ran high this week, the outcome was fairly predictable. From the moment the challenge was announced, Irina Shabayeva’s fellow contestants projected that she would win, given her extensive gown-designing experience. And even though she did come out on top with her “dynamite” design — a modern, sexier version of a ball gown...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ recap: ‘Nina Says Don’t Cry Over Spilt Silk’ … unless you’re eliminated [Updating Live Blog]
Nina Garcia at an event for W.E. (2011)
We’re in the home stretch of “Project Runway All Stars” season seven. Only five contestants were left going into the Wednesday night, March 13 episode, “Nina Says Don’t Cry Over Spilt Silk,” and (presumably) only four came out. So who advanced to next week’s penultimate episode, and who was left crying in a pool of misspent silk? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

“Spilt Silk” features Nina Garcia, the editor-in-chief of Elle magazine and a longtime judge on the original “Project Runway” series (you can see her on Thursday night when that show returns to Bravo for its 17th season). In this episode of “All Stars” she challenged the remaining designers to create luxurious ball gowns with silk. Garcia also judged this challenge, along with fellow guest judge Iris Apfel, who at 97-years-old has been a fashion icon for...

Worst elimination of the season? ‘Project Runway All Stars’ fans say judges got it wrong by axing Christina Exie [Poll Results]
Christina Exie
Christina Exie was surprised that she was eliminated from “Project Runway All Stars” in the “Climate Quick Change” challenge, and so were a lot of our users. Our predictions pointed to Dmitry Sholokhov as the designer most likely to be sent home, but he actually ended up with one of the top three scores even though his look sharply divided the judging panel. When we asked our readers what they thought of the judges’ decision, though, the vast majority thought the wrong designer was sent home.

The “Climate” challenge was to design a look that could transition from one weather condition to another. Exie had to create a look for the beach that would go from sun to high winds, so she went with a black bathing suit worn under a caftan that could be tied around the waist. The look wasn’t too inventive, and the cinching required too...

Project Runway All Stars Recap: Which Designer Failed to Weather the Storm?
Irina Shabayeva
Mother Nature made an unofficial guest appearance on Wednesday’s Project Runway All Stars, luring the half-dozen remaining designers into a battle against the elements.

This week’s climate change-themed episode challenged the season’s top six contestants to “design transformational resort wear, a look that transitions from one type of weather condition to another all in the same resort.”

Let’s start with the winner: The judges were “crazy” about Michelle Lesniak’s windy-to-rainy jumpsuit, whose overlay skirt snaps off and converts into a raincoat. Not only did the panel praise Michelle for her inventiveness, but it commended her “genius” fabric blending.

‘Project Runway All Stars’ recap: ‘Climate Quick Change’ prepares for a warming trend as the competition heats up [Updating Live Blog]
Cynthia Erivo
“Project Runway All Stars” season seven is heating up — literally. In episode 10 of the fashion competition, “Climate Quick Change,” the remaining designers had to create convertible resort-wear that could transition from one climate to another, with Tony-winning actress Cynthia Erivo and fashion designer Reem Acra on hand as guest judges. So who had the hottest looks, and who was left out in the cold? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute updates as they happen.

The competition is starting to wind down. There were only six designers left going into tonight’s meteorological runway show, and the playing field has been remarkably level. All of them had won at least one challenge over the course of the first nine weeks, while only two of them had won two challenges (Anthony Ryan Auld and Christina Exie). So there is no decisive front-runner among the competitors, which is...

‘Project Runway All Stars’: Biddell is the last designer without a low score, so why are we underestimating him for the win?
Evan Biddell
“Project Runway All Stars” is down to its top six contestants, but after eight weeks of competition there is only one who has yet to receive a single low score from the judges: Evan Biddell. But most of the Gold Derby users who have been making their predictions from week to week still don’t think he’s the one to beat. As of this writing he ranks fourth in our forecasts with 8/1 odds while Irina Shabayeva remains in front-runner position. Are we underestimating him?

The show has narrowed down the competition to the very best, which is saying something because when the season started all 14 contestants had won a previous edition of “Runway,” either here or abroad. But fashion is fickle, so almost all of the other designers have stumbled at least once. Shabayeva has gotten three low scores, more than any other contestant left in the competition — though...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ elimination predictions: Will former front-runner Dmitry face his first defeat in week 10?
Dmitry Sholokhov
After Dmitry Sholokhov won the first design challenge on “Project Runway All Stars” season seven he quickly became our front-runner to win the whole competition, and for good reason. Sholokhov has never lost. He previously won season 10 of the main “Runway” series and then season 4 of “All Stars.” Even low scores are almost unheard of for the dominant designer. But is he at risk of being eliminated from “Runway” for the first time ever? Our users think so.

Based on the combined predictions of our users as of this writing, Sholokhov is the likeliest to be eliminated from episode 10 tonight with leading odds of 27/10. But how could that be if he has historically been so rock-solid? Well, he’s coming off what was arguably his worst week in “Runway” history. In “All-Inclusive,” his gender-neutral trench coat in metallic silver looked to the judges like a Martian costume, and he landed in the bottom two,...

Eight designers remained going into episode eight of “Project Runway All Stars.” After dealing with unconventional materials, corsets, zoo animals and more, the designers had to make fashionable evening looks out of — gasp! — daytime separates. Which designers achieved the best day-to-night transformations in “Penneys from Heaven,” and whose looks belonged in the bargain bin? The only contestant who won twice up to this point was Anthony Ryan Auld, who had the best graduation look in “Top of the Class” and then prevailed again last week in “Pure Imagination.” Dmitry Sholokhov, Irina Shabayeva, Christina Exie, Michelle Lesniak and Sean Kelly also won challenges.

Last week on “Project Runway All Stars” Anthony Ryan Auld became the first contestant of the season to win two design challenges. He has sure come a long way since almost being eliminated in the season premiere. As a result of that windfall he has moved up in our predictions for who will win the season, while former front-runner Dmitry Sholokhov dips. But even with his sudden ascent, Auld isn’t our front-runner to win the competition. That’s still Irina Shabayeva.

Shabayeva has been hit-and-miss this season, but when she’s on she’s on fire. She won the “Buckle Up!” unconventional materials challenge, and she was the runner-up in three other challengers. That’s more high scores than any other contestant this season so far. But she has also gotten two low scores. She was in the bottom two for her tacky graduation dress in “Top of the Class” in week two,...

“What we’ll see will defy explanation.” Those lyrics from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” couldn’t have been more fitting on “Project Runway All Stars.” In episode seven, “Pure Imagination,” the designers embarked on this season’s avant garde challenge. So who got the judges’ golden ticket, and who was booted from this factory tour? Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

The avant garde challenge has always been an opportunity for designers to let their freak flags fly, but they had better fly high, especially this season. In the first six weeks of the competition the judges saw some wild, unflattering designs, but they have often been harder on contestants who created bland, uninspired looks (like Juli Grbac) than those who took big swings and missed (like three-time low-scorer Django Steenbakker). And when it comes to avant garde fashion, there’s nothing worse than boring.

After six weeks of competition “Project Runway All Stars” season seven has a new front-runner: Irina Shabayeva has surged into the lead based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users who make their predictions every week in our predictions center. But a few weeks ago it looked like she might not be long for this fashion world. So what changed? Daniel Montgomery and Susan Wloszczyna recently discussed the current season. Watch their slugfest above.

In week two of the competition, in the “Top of the Class” challenge, our readers thought Shabayeva should have been sent home for her overly provocative graduation party dress. But in almost every other challenge she has passed with honors. In the first six challenges she won once and got high scores three other times, which is more than any other designer. The reason she has veered between hot mess one week and judges’ pet...

In what has been an especially turbulent season of “Project Runway All Stars,” Sean Kelly is the latest to go from worst to first. He was a surprise addition to the show at the end of the season premiere episode, and it’s been a tumultuous run for him. He landed in the bottom two just last week in “On the Prowl,” but he immediately bounced back from that scare and got his first win of the season in “Pedal to the Metal.” This is the third time that has happened already this season.

Anthony Ryan Auld was in the bottom two in the very first episode as he had been reeling from the recent death of his grandmother. But the judges kept him around and he won the very next week in “Top of the Class,” in which he designed a sporty graduation party look.

A metal-themed challenge on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway All Stars took one designer a little too far out of her element. The remaining 10 contestants were instructed to create an “elegant red carpet carpet look using metallics,” one that also includes a “unique texture.”

For the most part, the designers seemed pretty confident going into this challenge — perhaps too confident. Michelle Lesniak, who prides herself on her work with metallics, was the first to brag, declaring this the “sparkle dazzle challenge.” Irina Shabayeva, meanwhile, gave us a full rundown of the stars she’s dressed on red carpets: Carrie Underwood,...

The “Project Runway All Stars” contestants put the “Pedal to the Metal” in episode six. The 10 remaining designers used metallic fabrics and unique textures to create red carpet looks that they hoped would please the guest judges: talk show host Wendy Williams, Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge and race car driver Danica Patrick. This season of “All Stars” has pit past champions from American “Runway” shows against champions from abroad, and up to this point the Americans have wiped the floor with the international contenders. Three of the first four eliminations were from foreign “Runway” spin-offs, leaving four international designers up against six Americans. Of course, it must be noted that even the contestants representing the Us version of “Runway” are a global...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ builds that wall: Will international designers keep getting deported from the competition?
Projet Haute Couture (2004)
“Project Runway” has always been an international affair, with contestants originating from all over the world. But this seventh and final Lifetime season of “Project Runway All Stars” is an especially global affair. Half of the contestants are past winners from the show’s foreign spin-offs. But those foreign contenders have been dropping like flies. Can the remaining contestants rebound, or will they quickly be deported?

There have been four eliminations over the first five weeks of the competition, and three of them have been international designers: Sunny Fong (Canada) in “Top of the Class,” Jasper Garvida (UK) in “Of Corsets Fashion” and Juli Grbac (Australia) in “On the Prowl.” The one American sent home thus far was actually a big surprise: Seth Aaron Henderson, who had won not one but two past seasons of “Runway.”

Dmitry Sholokhov
Did Michelle shamelessly copy Dmitry on ‘Project Runway All Stars,’ or did she win ‘On the Prowl’ fair and square? [Poll]
Dmitry Sholokhov
“Some of these people are just wolves in sheep’s clothing,” said “Project Runway All Stars” contestant Michelle Lesniak after the drama that ensued during the “On the Prowl” challenge. She designed a jagged-edged look inspired by a porcupine, but some of her fellow competitors thought she plagiarized one of Dmitry Sholokhov‘s looks from a previous season. Sholokhov seemed to think so too. The judges were also reminded of his aesthetic, but they didn’t think she stole anything from him because they gave her the win. What do you think? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know if she really deserved this victory.

The designers were well into the workday when Irina Shabayeva caught a glimpse of Lesniak’s look and tattled to Sholokhov about the similarities she perceived. Evan Biddell also thought they were similar, though he gave Lesniak credit...

“How much nipple is too much nipple?” These and other important questions were tackled on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway All Stars, which sent the remaining 11 designers to New Jersey’s Turtleback Zoo for an inspirational walk on the wild side.

With a hissing snake draped on her shoulders, Britney Spears-style, host Alyssa Milano announced that the contestants needed to “create a runway look to attract the most attention on a wild night out.” The designers could each choose one animal from the zoo (first come first serve!), incorporating all of that creature’s characteristics — not just the...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ recap: The designers went ‘On the Prowl’ with their zoological looks [Updating Live Blog]
Anthony Ryan Auld in Project Runway All Stars (2012)
The “Project Runway All Stars” contestants this season designed looks inspired by national heritage, corsets and even airplane parts, but in episode five the show went to the dogs — or maybe the zebras, the elephants, or the gorillas. In “On the Prowl,” the remaining 11 competitors took their inspiration from zoo animals. So who won the challenge, and who went on the endangered species list? Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

The international contestants got off to a slow start in this all-champions edition that pits winners of the American “Runway” against winners of the show’s foreign spin-offs. In the first four weeks of competition, three challenges were won by American champs: Dmitri Sholokhov in “All Stars Goes Global,” Anthony Ryan Auld in “Top of the Class” and Irina Shabayeva in “Buckle Up!” And two of the first three eliminations were contestants from abroad.

‘Project Runway All Stars’: Biddell, Dmitry and Michelle haven’t had any low scores yet, so are they the front-runners?
Evan Biddell
Almost everyone in this champions edition of “Project Runway All Stars” has had ups and downs in the first four episodes of the competition. From week to week you can’t count on anyone being safe. But so far there have been three designers who have escaped the judges wrath: Evan Biddell, Dmitry Sholokhov and Michelle Lesniak. Is one of them the front-runner to win?

The champions in this season’s cast come from the American iterations of “Runway” as well as its international spin-offs. Sholokhov won two American seasons: “Runway” season 10 and “All-Stars” season 4. Lesniak won American “Runway” season 11. And Biddell represents our neighbor to the north: he won Canadian “Runway” season 1.

Irina Shabayeva
‘Project Runway All Stars’: Did Christina’s latticework really deserve to beat Irina’s ‘fashion armadillo’? [Poll]
Irina Shabayeva
Irina Shabayeva got a lot of flak in week two of “Project Runway All Stars” when she created a graduation party look fit for a “hooker fairy tale,” but I think she has more than made up for that. “Top of the Class” was her only low score this season so far, while her other three design challenges resulted in high scores, including one win. Her latest high score came in “Of Corsets Fashion,” but she couldn’t quite achieve a second straight victory. She finished second to Christina Exie. Did you agree with that outcome? Scroll down to vote in our poll.

In this world-champions edition of “All Stars,” Exie is now the first international designer to notch a challenge win. She previously won the Australian edition of “Runway,” and this week she wowed the panel with her intricate shaping and latticework. But I for one preferred Shabayeva’s “fashion armadillo.

‘Project Runway All Stars’ recap: ‘Of Corsets Fashion’ turned underwear into outerwear [Updating Live Blog]
Seth Aaron Henderson
It’s corsets, of course! One week after the “Project Runway All Stars” season seven contestants tackled their unconventional materials challenge in “Buckle Up!” they got another unconventional challenge of sorts. In “Of Corsets Fashion” the 12 remaining designers turned underwear into outwear by making runway looks out of corsets. Who cinched up a win, and who wore out their welcome? Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

Last week’s “Buckle Up” challenge ended in the surprising elimination of Seth Aaron Henderson in 13th place. Every “All Stars” contestant this season is a past winner, but Henderson was undefeated, winning both of the seasons he previously competed in. The fact that he could be ejected so soon means no one is safe in this competition.

Is anyone else getting whiplash from the seventh and final season of “Project Runway All Stars” on Lifetime? For the second time in a row a contestant won a design challenge a week after they were nearly eliminated. In “Top of the Class” Anthony Ryan Auld made a comeback. Now in “Buckle Up!” it was Irina Shabayeva‘s turn to be redeemed. Did you agree with the judges that she deserved to win the latest challenge?

Many of our readers thought Shabayeva should have gotten a failing grade for last week’s blue-and-white graduation party look, which the judges thought looked like a “slutty princess.” But she experienced no such turbulence during the “Buckle Up” challenge, in which she and her fellow contestants used unconventional materials associated with air travel. She created a unique red dress with spray-painted paper cups and mesh, and when Isaac Mizrahi saw it he gave...

Project Runway All Stars Recap: Which Designer Buckled Under Pressure?
Tim Gunn
None of Project Runway All Stars‘ remaining 13 designers were thrilled by the announcement of an unconventional materials challenge on Wednesday’s episode, but they channeled their inner Tim Gunn and made it work — for the most part.

Always the bearer of good news, host Alyssa Milano assembled the baker’s dozen of contestants on a Southwest plane, where she explained this week’s challenge: Repurpose flight-related items into a “glamorous look for modern-day air travel.” Additionally, they would have to recycle seat leather into an accessory for their garment.

As with any challenge — but especially one where the designers are...

‘Project Runway All Stars’ recap: ‘Buckle Up!’ for an unconventional challenge on a plane [Updating Live Blog]
Sunny Fong
I’ve had it with these monkey-fighting unconventional challenges on this Monday-to-Friday plane!

It’s only week three of “Project Runway All Stars,” but it’s already time for an unconventional materials challenge, in which the contestants will design for the friendly skies. But “Buckle Up!” should be no sweat for a cast full of past “Runway” champions, right? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

Last week’s “Top of the Class” challenge ended with the elimination of Canadian “Runway” champ Sunny Fong, leaving 13 contestants in the running for the world title. Dmitry Sholokhov won the season premiere challenge, and then Anthony Ryan Auld recovered from his rough start by winning in “Class.” That means the American “Runway” champs are two-for-two, while the international winners are aiming to strike back.

‘Project Runway All Stars’ elimination predictions: Is Michelle Lesniak at risk in week 3?

Week two of “Project Runway All Stars” showed just how tumultuous this champions season can be. Anthony Ryan Auld won the “Top of the Class” design challenge after nearly being eliminated in the season premiere. And Irina Shabayeva was nearly sent home after a high score on night one. So who will be out in week three? Our users are betting on Anya Ayoung-Chee again, but Michelle Lesniak may also be at risk.

“Runway” season nine champion Ayoung-Chee disappointed the judges in the first challenge with a look that was far too safe for their tastes, but she redeemed herself in “Class” with a graduation party design that put her safely through to round three. However, she didn’t get a high score in the challenge, so she still hasn’t stood out to judges this season as a contender. Maybe that’s why most of our users still think she’ll get the boot.

‘Project Runway All Stars’ fans say Irina Shabayeva should have been eliminated for that ‘hooker fairy tale’ dress
Sunny Fong
Sunny Fong may not have had the worst design on “Project Runway All Stars” for the “Top of the Class” challenge, but the judges sent him home anyway for disregarding the assignment. Our readers aren’t sure that was the right call, though. Many of them thought Irina Shabayeva should have been sent packing. Scroll down for our complete poll results at the bottom of this post.

The challenge was for the contestants to design a look for a high-class graduation party using two colors. Fong was given yellow and blue, but the dress he made was entirely yellow, and his only nod to blue was a brooch lazily pinned to the back. I for one thought the judges were right to eliminate him, and so did 42% of our respondents. If he had done the bare minimum and added a blue belt or sash or hem — anything! — he would have been safe.

‘Project Runway All Stars’: Did Sunny Fong really disrespect the design challenge in ‘Top of the Class’? [Poll]
Dmitry Sholokhov
It’s one thing to perform poorly on a “Project Runway” design challenge, but it’s quite another to reject the challenge outright. That’s what Sunny Fong did in the second episode, “Top of the Class.” And that risky choice led to his elimination at the end of the episode. Did he deserve his fate, or do you think the judges overreacted?

This week “Runway” tasked the designers with creating a look for a graduation party in two colors. The week-one design challenge winner Dmitry Sholokhov was in charge of assigning those colors by distributing graduation tassels to his competitors. Not everyone was happy with the shades they ended up with — Michelle Lesniak didn’t like her “basic bitch” green and yellow, and Anthony Ryan retched a little at the idea of using orange. But at least they tried. Ryan even won the challenge once he learned not to...

“Project Runway All Stars” started its seventh and final season on Lifetime last week, and it was a rare reality competition episode that ended with more contestants than it started with. ‘Project Runway All Stars’: Will Dmitry Sholokhov continue his undefeated streak by winning the show for the 3rd time?
Dmitry Sholokhov
“Project Runway All Stars” season seven began last Wednesday, January 2, and Dmitry Sholokhov got off to a good start, winning the first challenge: designing a look inspired by the contestants’ home countries. Is he well on his way to winning the whole competition? He competed in two previous seasons of “Runway,” winning both times.

Of course, this is a “Champions” edition of “All Stars,” in which all 14 contestants have won a previous season of “Project Runway” here and around the world, but Sholokhov is one of only two contestants in this year’s lineup who has won twice: he prevailed in season 10 of the original “Project Runway” series, and again in season 4 of “All Stars.” So it might seem like par for the course for him to win a design challenge, but this is actually his earliest success in his entire history on the show.

Project Runway All Stars Sneak Peek: Could Irina Be the First Designer to Go?

You know that scene in Cinderella where the film’s leading lady stands helplessly as her jealous stepsisters rip her dress to shreds? That’s pretty much what goes down on Wednesday’s Project Runway All Stars, subbing designer Irina Shabayeva in for the Disney princess.

In TVLine’s exclusive sneak of the episode (Lifetime, 9/8c), the judges pick apart Irina’s latest design, with Georgina Chapman criticizing it for looking cheap and being too short. Isaac Mizrahi even compares it to a quinceañera dress.
