David is an award winning writer, director, and producer whose work spans sci-fi, dark comedy, and emotionally rich character dramas. David's debut feature Under My Skin (Writer, Director, Producer) was nominated for an Australian Academy Award (AACTA) and an Australian Directors' Guild Award. The film was released in Australia via Stan, in the US and Canada through MPX/1091, in the UK through High Fliers, and is available globally.
He wrote, produced and directed the short film Picture Wheel, which screened at major festivals including Palm Springs, Rhode Island, Cinequest, and Santa Monica, where it won Best Short Film, and was later acquired by Dustx. He wrote and produced the dark comedy Love & Dating in LA! which screened internationally at Cleveland, HollyShorts, Santa Monica (Audience Choice Award), and more. He exec produced The Horn, which premiered at Melbourne International Film Festival.
His upcoming feature Sons of Salt received development funding from Screen Australia and was shortlisted for the Australians in Film Gateway Screenwriting Prize. David has lectured on writing and performance at institutions including MIT, Edith Cowan University, and NYSSSA. A graduate of WAAPA (2007), he was a featured director in Inside Film's 2022 Rising Talent issue.
