Mugambi Nthiga
Mugambi is a Kenyan actor, writer, and director. He is known for his principal roles in Mnet's pan-African TV drama Changes, and various celebrated Kenyan films including Nairobi Half Life and Stories Of Our Lives. Mugambi co-wrote and co-directed Groove Theory, a musical drama TV series that ran for two seasons on regional cable TV, as his career was starting to take off as a writer. In 2014 Mugambi curated and directed Stories From The Mall, a theatre tribute to the 2013 Westgate terrorist attack, that was produced by The Gladwell Theatre, leading him to co-write Kati Kati, a feature film co-written and directed by Mbithi Masya. The film premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and was awarded the FIPRESCI Prize as well as the New Voices/New Visions Special Mention at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. In 2017, he co-wrote Supa Modo, a family film directed by Likarion Wainaina, which premiered at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival, and was awarded a Special Mention from the Generation Kplus Jury. He was most recently seen on Because You Said So, a seven person improv comedy group, Oh-Bama, a satirical web-series produced in Nairobi and Los Angeles, and New Beginnings, a drama series that aired across Africa. His directorial feature-film debut was the 2019 drama Lusala, which was part of the One Fine Day Films & Ginger Ink Films collaborative series.
