Avengers: Doomsday Star Chris Hemsworth Sports A Familiar Look In New BTS Video As Filming Begins
Image
Chris Hemsworth is now (or soon will be) filming his scenes as Thor for Avengers: Doomsday, and stunt performer Bobby Holland Hanton has shared a photo of the actor arriving to the set.

Hemsworth himself followed up with an Instagram video that shows him pounding a punching bag as he gets a bit of last-minute training in for his return as the God of Thunder.

As you can see, Hemsworth is sporting the shorter "Gladiator Thor" hairdo he debuted in Thor: Ragnarök and kept for Avengers: Infinity War. Though there's always a chance he will don the blond wig once he's in front of a camera, this look does line-up with the leaked concept art that did the rounds online a couple of months ago.

We haven't seen or heard from Thor since the events of Thor: Love and Thunder when he adopted Gorr the God Butcher's resurrected daughter. It's...

[Video & Photo] Chris Hemsworth Reveals Bold New Look While Training for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Image
Filming is currently underway for Avengers Doomsday, and one of the first confirmed stars to star in the movie, Chris Hemsworth, recently shared a video of him training for the movie.

A post shared by Chris Hemsworth (@chrishemsworth)

As you can see, the God of Thunder is preparing with all his might to face Doctor Doom (and other multiversal dangers).

What’s interesting is, Hemsworth was seen with a surprising new short haircut while filming.

Fans usually know Thor for his long, blond hair, but in this movie, Hemsworth is going with a shorter style—something he’s only done in two other Marvel films before.

Chris Hemsworth Reveals Exciting New Haircut For Avengers: Doomsday Filming (Photos)
Image
MCU fans got a glimpse at Avengers: Doomsday star Chris Hemsworth with quite an unusual haircut as filming continues. Hemsworth is set to be one of the headliners for Marvel Studios' fifth movie centered around Earth's Mightiest Heroes, leading a cast which already includes over two dozen of the McU's biggest names.

A new photo from the set of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday showed Thor star Chris Hemsworth with a short haircut. Known for his luscious locks of blond hair throughout his time in the MCU, Doomsday could give him a chance to embrace a hairstyle only seen in two films from his 14-year tenure in the MCU.

Stunt double Bobby Hanton shared an image of himself next to a few other Doomsday crew and cast members on Instagram, including Hemsworth without his classic long blonde hair.

Breaking Baz: Chris Hemsworth & Sam Rockwell Bring Star Power To Support Stunt Artists In First ‘Stuntnuts’ Movie, Part Of New Matthew Vaughn Marv Films Franchise
Image
Exclusive: Chris Hemsworth (Thor & Extraction movies) and Sam Rockwell are “helping out” their stunt-world buddies in the first of an initial four-part movie series called Stuntnuts – yes, it’s a palindrome- which are being made under Matthew Vaughn’s Marv Films banner.

You may have spotted the Stuntnuts title being introduced in the trailer- directed by Vaughn- that Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg recently posted on his official Instagram page to promote Meta’s RayBan Smart Glasses.

It features Zuckerberg, initially seen with an arm ablaze, launching into a series of stunt set pieces with John Cena and Benson Boone choreographed to the tune of Junior Senior’s high energy pop classic Move Your Feet (And Feel United) .

Teaser ends with a befuddled Zuckerberg looking at his torched arm, exclaiming: “Hey, Meta, am I on fire?” You can watch it here:

Extraction 2 Review: Hemsworth Is In Good Form In Predictable, Entertaining Actioner
Image
Sam Hargrave, a long-time stunt actor and coordinator, is following up his solid directorial debut with Extraction 2. Though both Extraction films are weak narratively, they are relatively rare gems that highlight the artistry of action and illuminate how poorly Hollywood has treated this art form. Here, Hargrave finds his groove with incredibly deliberate camera movements and extended scenes of action that ramp up the adrenaline. I hoped for a nonstop action trip that started with Chris Hemsworth's Rake entering the prison and ended with his final boss battle at the end. It cut out the story's emotional core, which ultimately meant very little. Extraction 2 is weighed down by Rake’s hang-ups over his choices, but the drama of the familial unit Rake is out to rescue is enough. Hargrave's vision is clear.

Somehow, Tyler Rake returned. After being clinically dead for nine months, the former Australian Sas...

Watch Chris Hemsworth Prove His Thor Strength Against an Arcade Game
Image
Thor has fought many evil foes in the MCU, but perhaps none as dastardly as an immobile arcade game that tests one's own strengths. The punching bag game challenged Chris Hemsworth to a fight, but it was actually the actor's stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton who walked away the winner. Hemsworth posted video of his tussle with the game to his Instagram stories, which only goes to prove that you should stay out of this God's way when he starts swinging fists.

Testing his punching strength against the arcade game, Chris Hemsworth proves that he is truly worthy of Thor's hammer. And it's no wonder that Marvel cast him in the role over a decade ago. Hemsworth has been shooting the fourth installment in the MCU franchise in Australia, with Thor: Love and Thunder hitting theaters in 2022. The actor took some time off to enjoy the local arcade, and showed off...

Tom Holland Goes Shirtless While Celebrating Final Day of Spider-Man: No Way Home Training
Image
Tom Holland celebrated his final day of Spider-Man: No Way Home training with a rare shirtless image. The young actor jumped right from making the highly anticipated Uncharted movie with Mark Wahlberg to joining his Sony and Marvel Studios family after both productions were delayed. While Holland was physically fit for the big screen adaptation of the popular video game franchise, he had to step things up a bit to get into superhero shape, which he proved by giving Marvel Cinematic Universe fans a sneak peek into his training regimen.

good morning to Tom Holland and this fitness update he just posted on Instagram pic.twitter.com/9s5F3M5I69

"Never post sh*t like this, but it's our last day so f*** it," wrote Tom Holland on his Instagram Stories with his topless image. He went on to thank Marvel Studios trainer Duffy Gaver,...

Watch Chris Hemsworth Show Off His Thor Strength With an Arcade Game
Chris Hemsworth
Can Thor take on an arcade game? Well, let's just say Chris Hemsworth proved he totally deserved the Marvel role. On Thursday, March 25, the actor took to his Instagram Story and showed off his strength by playing a game where you have to punch a speed ball to rate your strength levels. The star first punched the ball, which earned him a score of 8,792. For context, the highest score marked on the game is 9,051. He then roundhouse-kicked the speed ball and scored a 7,721. He then shared a video of stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton punching the ball ferociously, which ended up being worth it as he pulled in a score of 9,112, breaking the previous high score! Fans loved the display of strength,...

Chris Hemsworth Gets Pumped and Almost Pukes in New Thor: Love and Thunder Training Video
Image
Chris Hemsworth has shared a new video, providing a window into his intense workouts for Thor: Love and Thunder. The actor is getting back into god-like shape for the upcoming entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, seemingly pushing his body further than he's ever pushed it before. In this case, he pushed it so far that he nearly puked during a training session. So he's not exactly taking it easy.

The video in question was shared by Chris Hemsworth recently on Instagram. The actor is currently filming the fourth solo Thor entry in the MCU in Australia. The video sees Hemsworth doing sled training, which involves him pulling a heavy piece of equipment toward him rapidly with a rope, then pushing the heavy sled back up against a wall. Repeat. It doesn't help matters that his trainer is riding on the sled, encouraging Hemsworth to push himself. After a few repetitions,...

Chris Hemsworth's Thor 4 Physique Is Causing His Body Double to Struggle
Image
Chris Hemsworth might be too ripped for his Thor: Love and Thunder body double to keep up. Bobby Holland Hanton has been working with Hemsworth since 2013 and can confirm that he is bigger than he has ever been for the upcoming sequel, which is currently filming in Australia. Getting into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a dream come true for any actor, but it comes with a pretty intense workout regimen. Just look at Chris Pratt during his pre-mcu days to see what being a superhero does to the body.

While Chris Pratt is in superhero shape, he is nowhere near as big as Chris Hemsworth is. The God of Thunder actor recently told Men's Health that he has to keep training all of the time, otherwise his body "shuts down... I just don't feel good. I like it for a couple of days, then everything just starts to hurt.

Here’s why Chris Hemsworth’s body double struggles to keep up with the actor’s size
Image
Chris Hemsworth's body double is getting candid about how he struggles to keep up with the 'Thor' actor’s size.

The 37-year-old Hollywood star is training rigorously for the upcoming Marvel Studios film 'Thor: Love and Thunder' which is currently filming in Australia and is all set to surprise fans with his amazing transformation.

However, Bobby Holland Hanton, the man who has been stepping in for him has now admitted during an interview with Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa that the Marvel star is making his job even harder.

"Everyone is like 'Wow look at the size and him' and I'm like yeah that's brilliant, I'm that guy's double', so I text him, I'm like, 'Thanks very much dude, you've just made this even harder'," he said as per news.com.au.

"I train with him a lot, we train all the time, we're on the same diet regime and training,...

Perhaps the most notable superhero absence in Avengers: Infinity War, after actual Avengers members Ant-Man and Hawkeye, was that of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), who was one of the leads in Thor: Ragnarok. Ragnarok, notably, ended right before Infinity War began, so it was kind of a big deal that she wasn’t even mentioned.

Valkyrie isn’t dead, of course — that much was confirmed by the Russo brothers and Infinity War screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely on the Infinity War audio commentary. Since Thanos only killed half of the Asgardians in his ambush, that must mean that either she’s with the half who survived or she left before Thanos’ ship ambushed them.

Whatever the explanation, there is now reason to believe that Valkyrie is going to show up in Avengers 4. While her appearance in the film has not been confirmed officially and likely won’t be for a while,...

Great Job, Internet!: New Spider-Man Tom Holland teaches Chris Hemsworth how to superhero
As Thor in the Avengers movies, Chris Hemsworth spends a lot of time showing off his beefy muscles and swinging his magic hammer, but—due to Thor’s godly powers—almost everything he does beyond that is heavily aided by digital effects. Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to be getting ready for a superhero movie so much as he seems to be getting ready to become a superhero in real life. We’ve already seen him showing off his dance moves (an important skill for fighting crime) alongside co-star Zendaya, and now he has specifically called out his In The Heart Of The Sea co-star for his lack of practical superhero-ing skills.

But first, let’s back up a bit. A few weeks ago, Hemsworth posted the following video on Instagram of some training he was doing with stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton:...

Chris Hemsworth's Stunt Double Explains What It Takes to Look Like Thor
Chris Hemsworth
Getting and maintaining the body of a Norse God isn’t easy — unless you’re Chris Hemsworth. The Australian actor's longtime stunt double Bobby Holland Hanton recently spoke to Us Weekly about training with Hemsworth on the set of Avengers: Age Of Ultron and previous blockbuster flicks. “We both train twice a day and eat about eight meals a day when we’re getting into Thor shape,” says Hanton, who also works out with Hemsworth’s on-set trainer and childhood friend Luke Zocchi. “It sounds fun, but eventually you start to really hate food.” Hemsworth, who is [...]...

It took Avengers: Age of Ultron more than its stars to bring Earth's mightiest heroes to life. Stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton was among the stunt team that made Age of Ultron's heroics possible, and pulling double duty to do it. Hanton's lengthy list of credits include Thor: Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Dark Knight Rises, HBO's Game of Thrones. He also flexes his style muscles as Dove Men+Care Grooming Expert, a title he’s held

2014's Interview Index
There are a handful more interviews (at least) on the way given that the film year doesn't end until the Oscars are handed out and other films are still playing -- so we'll keep updating this particular page as we did in previous years (linked below). Nathaniel leaves for Los Angeles for the Critics Choice awards mid week and Michael we'll join him at Sundance the following week. It's high season! Can you handle all of these things happening at once every day?

If you've missed any of our chats, they're listed below. It's one of the only perks of a life of movie blogging to be able to meet talented people and grill them about their gifts and work (albeit in a usually rushed way!). Hope you enjoy reading them!

The Actors

Joan Chen & Zhu Zhu (Marco Polo)

Carrie Coon (Gone Girl)

Chadwick Boseman (Get On Up)

Jason Clarke...

Let's pretend we've been off air for a few month and Tfe's fall season starts tomorrow, 8 Am Est with a special Tuesday Top Ten day, reviews as Lists, or Lists as Lists, or Picture Lists or whatever -- top tens all day. Throw some confetti (Tfe has, strangely, a devout but possessive following. Don't keep things you love to yourself: share, tweet and like your favorites! Donate a cup of coffee a month - see sidebar)

Whenever I announce a new season, I like to illustrate with ruthless programmer Diana Christensen even though she'd immediately cancel us for our ratings share and low episode counts

The Semi-Regulars

Mondays Monologues | Stage Door | Beauty vs. Beast

Tuesdays Top Ten | Curio | New Or Returning Series

Wednesdays New Or Returning | A Year With Kate - only 11 episodes left!

Thursdays Ahs: Freakshow | New Or Returning | Tim's Toons

Bobby Holland Hanton: The Man Who Has Been Thor, Batman, and Bond
Bobby Holland HantonHave you ever fantasized about being a superhero? Bobby Holland Hanton doesn't need to. He's done it time and again.

Though he's only been in the movie business since Quantum of Solace (2008), the young fit Brit stuntman has already worn the Batsuit, Thor's cape, James Bond's suits, and... well whatever it is anyone was wearing on the set of Green Lantern before it was replaced by CGI. You can see Bobby somewhere in the battle sequences of Maleficent at the moment, albeit much less foregrounded than he usually is due to doubling a who's who of A list leading men.

A former gymnast, he competed for Great Britain until he was 17, he lives a very regimented life. Before any shoot, he shifts the training to "match" the body of whoever he'll be stunt doubling for. He's stepped in on the difficult stuff for Christian Bale, Daniel Craig,...

Bobby Holland Hanton has doubled for Batman in The Dark Knight Rises, Daniel Craig in Skyfall and of course, Chris Hemsworth in Thor: The Dark World. In short, he's the 'real action' behind a lot of today's top action stars. The skilled stuntman recently took time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions from Cbm. Check it out. Mark Julian: How did you get started as a stunt performer? Bobby Holland Hanton: I have had a physical career since a very young age, particularly in gymnastics. I enjoy being active, and crave the adrenaline that comes along with the job. I got a call out of the blue to audition to double for Daniel Craig in "Quantum of Solace." It was a dream come true.
