Tina King is a Florida native, but claims Georgia as home. A Graduate
of Georgia State University with a major in Nursing and a minor in
theatre. This passion for theatre undermines her major in nursing which
became short lived. After graduating she joined the Alliance Theatre
group as an assistant and student learning the nuts and bolts of the
theatre industry. It was during this period that her passion for the
craft cemented and she decided to move to New York in pursuit.
As with any move to a big city, Tina quickly learned how to adapt to her surroundings and when plans did not go as planned, determined never to give up her passion for the craft, she resorted to living in her car for the next six months. This experience recalls Tina, makes her more driven as she presses through the day-to-day turmoil of city life landing roles such as Law and Order, Third Watch, Inside Man among others. It was at this point that she became an active member of the unions, SAG, AFTRA and AEA.
Tina also showcased her skills on the New York theatre scene. With a keen interest in satisfying her curiosity and the challenge of the Film/Television industry, she purchased her one-way ticket to Los Angeles in early 2008 - Closing one chapter and beginning anew.
Now residing exclusively in the Los Angeles for almost two years, Tina has had the opportunity to work along the likes of Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, and some great directors. Tina King is defiantly an emerging artiste with some "sass and vinegar" as described by the Toluca Lake Times. When asked what separates her from Hollywood's finest, Ms. King states that "remembering her struggles, knowing how to walk through humility and being humble at the same time" are her hallmark signature in this fulfilling craft.
