Sam Schuder is an American actress who was born in Browns Valley, CA on April 4th, 2001 to Nay, an artist and fabricator, and Julie, an artist and entrepreneur. Her brother Dan is a graduate student studying bio-medical engineering at UC Irvine. She has European and Native American ancestry. She was home schooled at Ingalls Academy, and graduated in December, 2018.
Although she started entertaining her family and friends at 3 years old, her acting career took off when she was discovered by a popular acting and modeling school at a Christmas festival in Yuba City, CA at the age of 6. At that moment, Sam knew exactly what she was going to do with her life. Excited to take entertainment to the next level, she talked her parents into letting her take the acting classes. Two weeks later, Sam signed with JE Model in San Francisco, and began her modeling career, working for companies including LL Bean and WalMart. Sam raised $7000, the cost of a trip to Las Vegas to attend the International Presentation of Performers (IPOP), by operating a lemonade stand in her front yard. She delivered her payments in small bills in paper lunch bags, and she attended IPOP, where she met her manager Faras Rabadi of ETG. Sam signed with ETG in August 2008. In March, 2009, She booked the lead role of Janey, and worked alongside Matthew Lillard and Leah Remini in an ABC pilot called Married Not Dead. She went on to play Kimmy in the United States of Tara, working alongside Toni Colette and Kelly Gibbs on NCIS, working alongside Mark Harmon.
After spending a year and a half on the road and in hotels, her family moved to the LA area. Sam continued her acting career, playing Shelly Donahue on The Middle, working alongside Patricia Heaton, and Charlaine Bellefleur on True Blood, and Leah, a lead role in a film called Wild and Precious. Sam has been trained by some of the top acting coaches in Los Angeles, including Gregory Berg and Lesly Kahn, and she is still represented by Faras Rabadi of ETG.
