Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
Tomb Raider Reboot Script Is Finished, Shooting Begins Soon
Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
Last month, we reported that MGM's action-packed Tomb Raider reboot has found its villain, with Walton Goggins coming aboard to star alongside Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. Shortly after news of Walton Goggins' casting dropped, another report surfaced claimed that shooting was slated to begin at some point in January 2017. Yesterday, Walton Goggins jumped on social media to reveal that the script has been finished, and that production may already be under way now, just a few days into the new year.

Walton Goggins' Instagram photo revealed the cover page of the screenplay, written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, along with the caption, "2017...day 3... and imma bout to go Raid a motherf---ing Tomb." While Walton Goggins doesn't necessarily state that production is under way, we can also see a fedora hat resting on the edge of the script, which may be part of the actor's actual costume. Or, perhaps he...

A Review of 'Jamais Vu: The Journal of Strange Among the Familiar,' Issue #1
Harlan Ellison
Jamais Vu: The Journal of Strange Among the Familiar is a new horror magazine on the scene. Issue #1 hit the shelves (and Internet) in January and features a mix of fiction, poetry, non-fiction, comics, reviews, and a featured essay from legendary author Harlan Ellison. In his introduction, editor Paul Anderson discusses the origin and goal of the magazine, how it is similar to British television, and the theme of this issue, which is “aftermath…dealing with the past and/or the choices we've made.” Stories and poems by Gary A. Braunbeck, Michael Kelly, Jessica McHugh, Max Booth III, Adam-Troy Castro, Bruce Boston, Marge Simon, Stephanie Wytovich, and others explore this from various angles and with varying degrees of success, but the quality of the writing (both fiction and non-fiction) is surprisingly high for the first issue of a fledgling publication. The issue kicks off with “Photo Captions” by Gary A.

"Inception," "The Social Network" Win Writers Guild Awards! Check Out Complete List of Winners and Nominees!
As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."

That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy

For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.
