Dine with Sawney: Flesh of Man : A Movie Review
Director: Ricky Wood. Writer: Rick Wood. Cast: Elizabeth Brown, Lisa Cameron, Lindsay Cromar, Shian Denovan, Samuel Feeney and David Hayman. Sawney: Flesh of Man was shot as an indie production in the United Kingdom. This film takes some of its mythology from a 15th Century legend, Sawney Bean. This cannibal, allegedly, stalked and killed over a thousand travellers in the Highlands of Scotland, with his ravenous family. Eventually, the family members were captured and executed. But, Rick Wood's script brings Sawney back from the dead, to haunt young lads and lasses. This film is excellently shot by Ricky Wood and the diverse characters add to the already moody scenery. The story is fairly straight forward. A detective is trying to catch a serial killer, who is chopping up local women. The bodies are only partially discovered (the rest has been eaten). Det. Munro (Gavin Mitchell) enlists the aid of a local journo',...

‘Sawney: Flesh of Man’ Review
Stars: Elizabeth Brown, Lisa Cameron, Lindsay Cromar, Shian Denovan, Samuel Feeney, David Hayman, William Houston, Jean-Paul Jesstiece | Written by Rick Wood | Directed by Ricky Wood Jr.

The legend of Sawney Bean has been the inspiration (at least partially) for a lot of horror movies over the years: The Hills Have Eyes, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, even the Wrong Turn franchise, but until now there has not been a film directly influenced by the legend. And there still isn’t. Based on the (in)famous legend of Sawney Bean, the patriarch of a cannibal family that killed over 1,000 people near the end of the 15th-century, Sawney: Flesh of Man instead updates the tale to modern-day Scotland and sees religious psychopath Sawney (Hayman) stalk Glasgow in a black cab, abducting unholy souls for his communion of sacrifices. With his insane family of inbred killers, Sawney tortures and eats their victims saving the...
