Brennan Lee Mulligan on ‘Dimension 20: Titan Takedown’ and Why Learning About WWE Was Like ‘Dante’s Inferno’
Image
Brennan Lee Mulligan has shown “Dimension 20” viewers countless new worlds as the dungeon master of Dropout’s tabletop actual play series, but now he’s stepping into a new realm: professional wrestling.

The latest season of “Dimension 20,” “Titan Takedown,” is a four-episode side quest that swaps Mulligan’s usual crew of comics and D&d aficionados for a quartet of WWE wrestlers: Bayley, Chelsea Green, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods/Austin Creed.

Though Dungeons & Dragons and pro-wrestling may seem like two different universes, Mulligan says the idea for a wrestling season of “Dimension 20” has been brewing for some time. “These wrestlers have tons of fans among the Dropout staff and the ‘Dimension 20’ cast and crew,” he told Variety.

“We’d had Austin [Creed] on ‘Um, Actually’ and word got to me that he loved playing D&d, so there was immediately a connection there. I was like ‘Oh,...

The cast for the second season of “Dimension 20: Misfits & Magic” will include Brennan Lee Mulligan as Evan Kelmp, Erika Ishii as K , Danielle Radford as Sam Black and Lou Wilson as Whitney Jammer.

The most recent season of Dropout’s Dungeons & Dragons actual play show “Dimension 20” concluded Aug. 28 with the 10th and final episode of “Never Stop Blowing Up,” an ’80s action-movie-themed installment.

The “Dimension 20″ franchise is among the most popular programs in the small but growing...

This Underrated Fantasy Series Figured Out The Voldemort Story Harry Potter Should Have Told
Image
"Misfits and Magic" features a compelling reimagining of Voldemort with a more complex character arc than in Harry Potter. Evan Kelmp's story subverts Voldemort's one-dimensional villainy, showing genuine growth and self-acceptance. The humorous and critical contrast to Harry Potter in "Misfits and Magic" highlights the potential for more nuanced character arcs.

Dimension 20's comedic riff on Harry Potter has a Dark Lord plot that's far more compelling than the storyline for Voldemort. Dropout's Ttrpg series, Dimension 20 largely functions as an anthology that hops around between stories from season to season. While some revisit characters and settings from previous parts of the series, with a rotating cast joining the one-off "Side Quests" that typically are expansions on previous seasons or well-known media archetypes. Among the best seasons of Dimension 20 is "Misfits and Magic," which dives into a world clearly designed to resemble the wizarding world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter.
