Sof Puchley is a Los Angeles-based director, producer, and 3x award-winning actor specializing in bold, female-led genre storytelling. Born in Chicago and raised in LA, she trained at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in the UK, earning a BA (Hons) in Acting. Sof has performed on stages across the U.S.-from Shakespeare in the Park in Chicago to Disneyland's Beauty and the Beast-and has appeared in numerous indie films, national commercials, and television projects.
Her passion for creating her own work led her to producing, and she has since built a dynamic slate of genre-forward films including the multi-award-winning A Siren's Call (distributed by Film Shortage and IndieFlix), the vampire mini-series DRIP, the western pilot Dangerous, and Gateway Drug. She also recently directed Pretty Boys, a grounded father-son drama starring Doug Jones, and the sci-fi short ID EST, which was selected for multiple Oscar-qualifying festivals.
With a background in stunts and action design, Sof brings a visceral, kinetic sensibility to her storytelling. She has coordinated and action-directed several features, including They Were Asking For It, American Muscle, and How to Disappear. Her directorial debut feature, TRACERS, is currently in development.
As the founder of Alom Media, Sof is committed to telling dangerous stories about dangerous women. She was nominated for the Tim Burton Visionary Award.
