Ross studied video production at the UHI Millennium Institute, Perth
and Thames Valley University, London before leaving to work in the film
and television industry. His first film, a short documentary (shot
whilst still at college) profiling the effect of immigration on the
seaside resort of Hastings, won him Best Non-Fiction Film at The
Electric Palace Cinema Awards. He also gained experience as a media
designer by creating marketing materials for theatre and other outlets,
most notably acting as the media manager for Equal Measure.
Ross has worked predominately as a cinematographer on a variety of projects and his work has been shown at the Cannes Film Festival, on television and virally online. His significant film and TV credits include 'Brazilian Music' (for Sky 219), 'A Morass' (feature film), 'Fugue' (feature film), 'Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros perform at The Old Vic Tunnels' (documentary), along with directing and editing online video diaries for the hit chart singer Emma's Imagination, winner of Sky 1's 'Must Be The Music'.
