Matthew John Koppin is an accomplished director and editor with a 16-year track record of producing compelling, award-winning projects. A career documentary filmmaker, Matthew has taken his field-production and guerrilla-filmmaking influences into film and commercial directing, culminating in numerous promotional short films, music videos, and ad spots for brands like Urban Decay, Lexus, New Balance, & Sony Pictures.

In 2016, Matthew co-wrote and produced retro/horror feature, MADE ME DO IT. The film was distributed by Indican Pictures. In 2020, Matthew produced the teen-suicide prevention docu-series, IRREPLACEABLE, for ChiRho Films. Matthew has also shot and produced documentaries for NGOs and non-profits all over the world, including school projects in Haiti, orphanages in Kenya & Ghana, and medical clinics in Colombia and Peru.

The feature mockumentary RE-OPENING (2023) marks Matthew's narrative directorial debut. The film garnered 22 awards over 25 film festivals - Best Feature, Best Comedy, and Best Director. The film has been distribute through Blaze Media. His most recent projects currently in post-production: AMERICAN EXODUS (2024) documenting the historic "migration" of millions Americans during the 2020 Pandemic. Matthew is currently directing the BELIEVE THE DREAM (2024) docu-series as production continues into Fall 2023.
