Recognized as an emerging voice in the screenwriting community by Showtime, Estella Gabriel garnered attention by winning the Showtime Tony Cox Award for her pilot AMERICANA. A bilingual, multi-faceted artist, Estella's mother hails from Juarez, Mexico, while her father is of Scottish and English descent. Estella is passionate about creating transformative female lead characters set in powerful, controversial, and relevant worlds. Her acting credits include "Southland" on TNT, "Bones" on FOX, and others.

Her TV pilot, AMERICANA (formerly ICE), won the Showtime Tony Cox Award - TV 1 Hour. Her feature film, GRINGAS, was a finalist in the 2022 Annual Black List Lab. Her TV pilot, Lady of the Lake, was a semi-finalist in the 2022 StoryPros International Screenwriting Competition among others.
