    • One of Menz's first mentors was the late casting director, Lou DiGiaimo (Rain Man/Tom Cruise, The Natural/Robert Redford, The Godfather). After auditioning for a project with Lou, Ridley Scott & Anthony Hopkins, he wanted to help him learn and understand the business. He would have him come to his Los Angeles office & watch other artists audition, asking of Menz; "what did you see in one actor that you didn't see in another?", was a favorite line to ask of the then (very) young Menz. DiGiaimo lobbied in 1991 for a relatively unknown Brad Pitt for a leading role in "Thelma & Louise".
