Federico Cuervo is Head of ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) - Americas, the unit of content development, production and distribution from ViacomCBS Networks Americas.
Based in Buenos Aires, Cuervo reports to JC Acosta, President ViacomCBS International Studios & Networks Americas.
In this role, he is responsible for the supervision and execution of VIS's strategic plan to develop and produce original scripted and unscripted shows and formats for ViacomCBS' own brands and platforms, as well as third party companies worldwide.
Before, Cuervo has been SVP of Production Comedy Central and Paramount Channel in Latin America. In that position, he was in charge of the production teams for all ViacomCBS Networks Americas content, including broadcast and pay TV channels in Latin America. As Brand head for both channels, he was responsible of the network's creative visions and business strategies across linear and non-linear platforms.
Cuervo has led all of Comedy Central's stand-up productions, transforming them into a successful franchise for the brand and positioning it as a pioneer of the genre throughout the region. In November 2016, Cuervo oversaw the launch of the first Comedy Central Fest in Mexico City, an annual comedy event that provided three uninterrupted days of humor. In 2017, the first editions of the festival in Medellin, Colombia, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, were successfully launched, followed by the second edition in Mexico City in May 2018.
Cuervo joined ViacomCBS Networks Americas in 2009 as Vice President of Production and Programming for MTV and VH1 Argentina, overseeing these areas, developing, and implementing local content strategies for both brands in the region.
Prior to joining ViacomCBS Networks Americas, Cuervo was Director of Production for GP Producciones, associated to BBC Worldwide. With more than 30 years of experience in the television industry, Cuervo began his career as a journalist working in production for different news outlets in Argentina and abroad.
