Kaitlyn Olson Reveals Her Biggest Hopes for High Potential Season 2
Image
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphiaand High Potential star Kaitlin Olson talks her high hopes for the crime drama's second season.

Speaking to Deadline, Olson responded to the question of what topics she would like to cover in High Potential Season 2 by pointing towards the moment in Season 1 when her character breaks down why a supposed gift is anything but, which she noted resonated with more viewers than she expected. "I felt like it really touched a lot of people, and I was like, oh, yeah, there are people who are identifying with that and would like to see more of how difficult it can be."

"I definitely want to do more of that, and I also want her to make mistakes, like I said before," Olson continued. "It’s not fun to watch somebody just hit it out of the park every single time, it’s going to get boring.

High Potential Season 1: Everything We Know So Far

That's correct. The big bird from FX hit comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Kaitlin Olson will switch gears to become a detective!

Aside from Always Sunny, Olson is known for her way too short-lived comedy, The Mick.

During TV upfront week, ABC announced that High Potential is one of the network's two dramas slated for this fall.

On Olson's side will be her detective partner, Daniel Sunjata.

Sunjata is known for his roles as Paul Briggs on Graceland and Franco Rivera on Rescue Me.

The procedural is based on the popular French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel.

High Potential is written by Drew Goddard, who serves as an executive producer with Sarah Esberg for Goddard Textiles.

Rob Thomas serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Dan Etheridge, Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret, and Jean Nainchrik.

Alethea Jones is the director and executive producer. Olson serves as producer.

Drew Goddard Drama Based On French Series ‘Hip’ Gets ABC Pilot Order
Image
ABC has given a pilot order to a character-based procedural drama from top TV and film writer Drew Goddard and ABC Signature, where Goddard and his Goddard Textiles are based.

As Deadline reported exclusively last week, the project, based on TF1’s popular detective series Hip (High Intellectual Potential), had been a frontrunner for an order as part of a fall round of ABC pilot pickups. The network had set an early, mid-October script delivery date deadline for a few projects that were in more advanced stages of development to contend for what I hear are about two or three pilot orders.

2022 ABC Pilots & Series Orders

The premise of the untitled drama, written by Goddard and targeted for the 2023-24 season, evokes Good Will Hunting. In it, a single mom with three kids and an exceptional mind helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges some evidence...

Exclusive: ABC is developing a character-based procedural drama from top TV and film writer Drew Goddard and ABC Signature where Goddard and his Goddard Textiles are based. I hear the project, based on TF1’s popular detective series Hip (High Intellectual Potential), has been a standout and is looking good for a fall “second cycle” round of pilot pickups, which ABC is planning. ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, has acquired English language adaptation rights to TF1’s hit detective show “Hip (High Intellectual Potential).”

The U.S. adaptation is currently in development, and a showrunner, writing team and cast will be announced at a later stage.

The original series, created by Alice Chegaray-Breugnot, Stéphane Carrié and Nicolas Jean, and starring Audrey Fleurot (“Intouchables”) and Mehdi Nebbou (“The Bureau”), has been one of the most successful French-language shows on French TV in the last 10 years.
