‘My Fault: London’ Review: A Tasteless English-Language Adaptation of Tawdry Teen Lit
Image
In “My Fault: London,” there simply aren’t enough alterations to author Mercedes Ron’s source material, “Culpa Mía,” to make its trashy gimmick the least bit palatable. The Wattpad fiction’s original Spanish adaptation of the same name, which debuted on Prime Video in 2023, seemingly fits the definition of a “guilty pleasure,” making audiences cringe as non-blood related stepsiblings challenge puritanical social mores with their embarrassingly toxic, borderline incestuous courtship. At least that iteration didn’t contain the parents laughing off any sneaking suspicions their kids are having hot sex with each other under their roof.

This slightly-toned-down English-language version plays as if a teen Jackie Collins wrote an illicit romance between two cantankerous step-siblings set in the worlds of “The Fast and the Furious” and “Never Back Down.” If that sounds chaotically messy, it’s because it is. The leading lovers’ sharp edges are shaved down, softened to...

Pinocchio:Unstrung Adds Robert Englund and Richard Brake to the Poohniverse
Image
One, two, Pinocchio's coming for you. No, wait. Thats not right. Its one, two, Freddys coming for you, the nursery rhyme made famous in A Nightmare on Elm Street, which just so happened to feature Robert Englund, who has been announced alongside Richard Brake to star in Pinocchio: Unstrung. See, its all connected. Set for release in 2025, the movie is another entry in The Twisted Childhood Universe (dubbed the Poohniverse) created by Rhys Frake-Waterfield that follows in the footsteps of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, and its recent sequel.

Per Variety, horror legends Englund and Blake have been cast in the new flick, for which production is already underway. Blake will star as Geppetto, while Englund is said to be taking on the role of Cricket, who was appointed by the Blue Fairy in the original Disney movie to help guide Pinnochio on his journey as he becomes a real boy.

This 46% Rotten Tomatoes Monster Horror Sequel Is Finally a Win for Peacock
Image
Some movies are so bad that there isn't anywhere to go but up if the studio decides to pursue a sequel. That was exactly the case with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, which follows an original with an almost unbelievable 3% score from critics and a 50% rating from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. However, that didn't stop Premiere Entertainment Group and Jagged Edge Productions from making Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, which has been one of the most popular movies to watch on Peacock since premiering on the platform at the start of October. The sequel stars Scott Chambers, Tallulah Evans, and Ryan Oliva, and currently sits at a 46% score from critics and a 65% rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes; still bad but a step-up from the original.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 reaches VOD later this month
Image
Made on a budget of less than $100,000, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (watch it Here) earned more than $6 million during its global release in early 2023… and sure, the movie racked up the Razzies, but it’s money that matters, and that’s why Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 was made and given a theatrical release earlier this year. We know the Australia-based company Umbrella Entertainment will be giving the film a special edition Blu-ray release next month, and now it has been announced (via Collider) that Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 will be receiving a VOD release in the United States on June 26th!

A.A. Milne’s 1926 children’s book Winnie-the-Pooh and the characters in it lapsed into the public domain at the start of last year, and that’s how Frake-Waterfield was able to make these movies happen, no permission required.

Looks like there's going to be a bloodbath at Peter Pan's Nightmare Neverland! New set images from the upcoming horror reimagining hint at a gory experience. Freddy and Jason Need a Cameo in the Blood and Honey Poohniverse
Image
The unexpected success of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey led to the creation of a profitable cinematic universe. The Poohniverse is expanding with new films like Monsters Assemble and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. Despite challenges with acquiring popular horror icons, the Poohniverse is on track to become a niche but ambitious franchise.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey may have "won" every Razzie it was nominated for, but it made a profit. The budget was a mere $50,000, raking in nearly $5 million worldwide, a massive multiple on its budget but not quite an A-list horror number. Even still, that profit margin ended up being the unexpected start of not just a franchise but a cinematic universe. And, now, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 has had its three-day run in theaters, with a newly-announced third film on the way.

But Winnie is going to be far from alone—not just in Blood and Honey 3 but...

‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2’ Review
Image
Stars: Marcus Massey, Ryan Oliva, Eddy MacKenzie, Scott Chambers, Tallulah Evans, Lewis Santer, Simon Callow | Written by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, Matt Leslie | Directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield

The original Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was easily one of the worst films of last year, but based on its outrageous premise and low budget, it managed to turn a profit. That of course means a sequel, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, with all the usual claims of a bigger budget, more kills and better effects. Conspicuously absent were promises of a decent script or acting, however.

Taking place a year after the original, Blood and Honey 2 opens with the introduction of Owl, who looks more like a vulture than anything. He joins Pooh and Piglet in their fun and games, starting with the torture and killing of three scantily clad campers.

Elsewhere, Christopher Robin, now played by Scott Chambers, aka producer Scott Jeffrey,...

Review: Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2
Image
This decade, the face of horror started to slowly change when several classic children’s properties, including Winnie-the-Pooh, entered the public domain. In 2023, indie filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield released Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, a mindless slasher that won the Razzie Award for Worst Picture. Now, Frake-Waterfield is back with a sequel that's been paraded around as the first movie's “good” version, even if it tries way too hard.

For what it's worth, the sequel is an addmitted improvement over the first, no thanks in part to its significantly higher budget. However, while it was extremely schlocky, the first film was so silly that it was weirdly endearing. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, on the other hand, doesn't lean into its inherent camp as much as it should, resulting in an awkward and humorless romp where the bloodshed occurs so often it becomes redundant.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood & Honey 2 Had a Promising Start...

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 Review | It's Actually Good
Image
Embracing meta direction and clever twists keeps this sequel fresh and surprisingly enjoyable. Well-done prosthetics, pacing, and gore make for a satisfying horror experience. Despite being a bit mean and sacrilegious to Milne's memory, and having some weak internal logic, the film offers a raw love letter to over-the-top horror fans.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was trendy but abysmal. Yet somehow, writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield managed to garner the cash with their Jagged Edge Productions for a sequel. The filmmaker reportedly listened to the niche audience who balked at the low-budget horror film that pooed upon A.A. Milne’s classic IP. His “Come to Jesus” moment lured in co-screenwriter Matt Leslie (Summer of ’84) and the duo pretty much reinvented everything for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. The story is plausible if not better, and the horror and gore recall the gritty, one-note, blood-soaked horror escapades from the 1970s and ’80s, such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre,...

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 is a go with a bigger budget, Rabbit, heffalumps, and woozles
Image
We already knew that there’s going to be another installment in the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey horror franchise, because it was announced earlier this month that Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 (which is now on the last day of its three-day theatrical run) a part of a cinematic universe with other horror movies inspired by children’s stories, like Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, Bambi: The Reckoning, and Pinocchio Unstrung, and it’s building up to the crossover movie Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, which will be released in 2025. But now Variety has been able to confirm that, in addition to Poohniverse, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 is also moving ahead. This sequel will have a bigger budget than either of its predecessors, and “will introduce new characters from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories, including Rabbit, the heffalumps and the woozles.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 Now in the Works, Will Have Bigger Budget
Image
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 is in the works with a bigger budget, introducing new nightmarish characters from A.A. Milne's world. The 'Poohniverse' will bring together Pooh, Piglet, horror versions of Bambi, Peter Pan, and others in a crossover event movie. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 takes a meta approach with a bloody storyline and a mix of positive and mixed reviews.

A third movie in the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is now officially in the works. The news comes quickly following the theatrical release of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, with Variety revealing that Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 will have an even “bigger budget” that this year’s follow-up. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 will also introduce several more beloved characters from the world of A.A. Milne, with Rabbit and the heffalumps due to be twisted and warped into nightmarish creations alongside the likes of Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger.

Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble plans to bring twisted children's characters together for a terror-filled event inspired by Freddy Vs Jason and The Avengers. The success of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey sequel hinges on commercial performance, as budget size for this horror film grows significantly. Set to release in 2025, the Poohniverse movie faces challenges from critics and audiences, but the potential for an epic monster mash-up still shines through.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has a lot to answer for, as Jagged Edge Productions has announced their ultimate goal for the public domain slasher franchise - a huge crossover event entitled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.

Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey 2 Has 'People Dying Left, Right and Center'
Image
Pooh is pissed. But, rather than slaying alone, this time, he’s dragging his pals, Tigger, Piglet, and Owl, along for the blood bath. Hello, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. We’ve been waiting for you. Mostly because we know Team Pooh can pull off a “better” slasher film than Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Confirmation of that comes via WTPBH2 star Lewis Santer (playing Tigger), who tells us that the sequel to the 2023 jaw-dropper is “like the first film on steroids.”

Reportedly, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who shares writing duties alongside Matt Leslie in the sequel, wanted to flush out a better tale here, however grizzly and gory it is, in this freakishly savage (but fun) spin on A.A. Milne’s classic characters. The sequel finds Winnie-the-Pooh (Ryan Oliva), Piglet (Eddy MacKenzie), Owl (Marcus Massey), and Tigger enraged when their home and lives are endangered after Christopher Robin...

Winnie the Pooh will be sporting a brand new look in the upcoming slasher sequel Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, which promises to be bigger and bloodier.

The Hollywood Reporter shares the latest sneak peek at Blood and Honey 2 this morning, giving us our first look at the brand new Winnie the Pooh character design.

Returning director Rhys Frake-Waterfield tells the outlet, “This time we have people doing the prosthetics — it’s a company that has worked on Harry Potter’s Voldemort and Star Wars. And they’ve been in charge of the redesigns of the creature. And that’s why Pooh looks a bit more scary. There’s an extra level of detail there.”

He notes that the cost of bringing Pooh to life for the first Blood and Honey was a mere $770, while the sequel’s bigger budget allowed for a $20,000 spend on the character design.

‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2’ Director Promises Over 30 Kills in Upcoming Sequel
Image
A sequel to this year’s Winnie the Pooh slasher movie, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is on the way soon, and it promises to be bigger, bloodier, and (hopefully) better.

Speaking with Variety this week, returning writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield talks about the increase in budget for the sequel, and how it will allow for more carnage.

“In comparison to the first film everything’s stepped up massively. It’s a horror film. A lot of the times people are going there for the death scenes and for those elements and we’ve really upped the ante,” Frake-Waterfield explains. “I think the last time I did a count there was over 30 deaths in the movie, which is quite substantial compared to most movies. I think that’s at least over three times what the first film had and there’s various massacres and stuff. So there’s...

Meredith Baxter and David Morse in Winnie (1988)
A sequel to this year’s Winnie the Pooh slasher movie, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is on the way and in production now, and IGN shares new imagery today.

The sequel will feature Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin, Piglet, and Owl, we recently learned, and IGN confirms this week that Tigger will also be brought into the mix.

“Tigger is incredibly violent. He loves to torture his victims before killing them,” producer Scott Jeffrey tells IGN, teasing the twisted version of Tigger we’ll meet next year.

IGN also reveals that the reason Tigger wasn’t used in the first movie is because the character wasn’t in the public domain at the time. In 2024, however, he will be.

See more images over on IGN now.

“Bigger and Badder. The sequel will feature new creature designs, a new cast, and a high death count,” said writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield.
