Chad Michael Murray Brings Holiday Magic With a Spicy Twist in ‘The Merry Gentlemen’ Trailer
Image
Netflix is ready to bring the Christmas spirit with a spicy twist in the trailer for The Merry Gentlemen released Thursday.

In the trailer, Britt Robertson’s character, Ashley, a former big-city dancer, is determined to save her parents’ small-town performing venue, The Rhythm Room, from closing down. As a means of bringing in more customers, she stages an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.

“We are going to make this show something truly special. Something this town has never seen before,” Ashley says.

With help from Chad Michael Murray, who portrays romantic lead and contractor Luke, and others who work at The Rhythm Room, Ashley creates a new holiday entertainment spectacle known as the Merry Gentlemen (think a tamer Magic Mike but for the holidays.) Though the new show generates excitement, sparks may also fly between Ashley and Luke.

Marla Sokoloff, Beth Broderick, Michael Gross, Maxwell Caulfield, Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes...

‘The Merry Gentlemen’ Trailer: Chad Michael Murray Goes ‘Magic Mike’ in Netflix Christmas Movie
Image
It’s time to make it reindeer.

In the trailer for Netflix’s holiday rom-com “The Merry Gentlemen,” Britt Robertson stars as a former big-city dancer who dreams up creative (and sexy) way to save her parents’ small-town performing venue: an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.

Sparks fly between Robertson and Chad Michael Murray as he strips down in the first teaser. “We are gonna make this show something truly special. Something this town has never seen before,” she says as shirtless dancers perform body rolls on stage.

Beth Broderick, Michael Gross, Maxwell Caulfield, Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes and Marc Anthony Samuel also star in the film from director Peter Sullivan and writer Marla Sokoloff (who also acts in the film).

Jeffrey Schenck, Barry Barnholtz, Brian Nolan, and Sullivan serve as producers for the steamy flick, which drops on Nov. 20.

“The Merry Gentlemen” is one of four holiday rom-coms hitting the streamer this season.

Chad Michael Murray Goes Full ‘Magic Mike’ in ‘The Merry Gentlemen’ Trailer
Image
Chad Michael Murray is getting his freak on for a “Magic Mike”-tinged Netflix holiday rom-com.

The “One Tree Hill,” “A Cinderella Story,” and “Freaky Friday” alum strips down for “The Merry Gentlemen” in a cabaret-style show to save one small town’s beloved theater. Sounds a little like “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” meets Hallmark? Yeah, we thought so too.

Britt Robertson leads the film as a “former big-city dancer” who “decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.” Cue Murray’s character, who also realizes that sparks fly with Robertson’s lead even off-stage.

Marla Sokoloff, Beth Broderick, Michael Gross, Maxwell Caulfield, Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes, and Marc Anthony Samuel co-star. Peter Sullivan directs from a script by actress Sokoloff, who also has starred in and directed Lifetime films like “Christmas Hotel” and “Blending Christmas.”

“The Merry Gentlemen” is produced by Jeffrey Schenck, Barry Barnholtz, Brian Nolan, and Peter Sullivan.

Chad Michael Murray Strips to Save Christmas in Netflix’s ‘The Merry Gentlemen’ Trailer
Image
Chad Michael Murray is stripping down to save Christmas in the trailer for Netflix’s new holiday movie “The Merry Gentlemen.”

In the trailer for the movie, which debuts Nov. 20 on Netflix, a former big-city dancer (Britt Robertson) decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue to save her parents’ small-town performing venue, called the Rhythm Room, which she explains used to be a Christmas staple that is town on “life support.”

“We are gonna make this show something truly special — something this town has never seen before. Who’s ready to make some Christmas magic?” she asks her potential dancers, who she struggles to convince to participate.

“There’s gotta be a way to get people excited about this place again,” Robertson’s Ashley laments to Murray’s Luke, who responds, “And you think male strippers are the answer?” before Ashley clarifies that the perform is considered a male dance revue,...

Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry in Ginny & Georgia (2021)
Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia ended on a hell of a note. Here’s what the ending could mean for the show’s future.

“You can almost imagine the pitch meeting for Ginny & Georgia: ‘What if we do Gilmore Girls, only with more sex and Lorelai’s a criminal mastermind?’ By the end of the 10-episode first season of the new Netflix series, that’s basically exactly what the drama has provided.”

‘Beginners’ Trailer!
Focus Features has just released a brand new trailer for their upcoming film Beginners.

From writer/director Mike Mills (Thumbsucker) comes a comedy/drama about how deeply funny and transformative life can be, even at its most serious moments. Beginners imaginatively explores the hilarity, confusion, and surprises of love through the evolving consciousness of Oliver (Golden Globe Award nominee Ewan McGregor). Oliver meets the irreverent and unpredictable Anna (Mélanie Laurent of “Inglourious Basterds”) only months after his father Hal (Academy Award nominee Christopher Plummer) has passed away. This new love floods Oliver with memories of his father who – following 44 years of marriage – came out of the closet at age 75 to live a full, energized, and wonderfully tumultuous gay life. The upheavals of Hal’s new honesty, by turns funny and moving, brought father and son closer than they’d ever been able to be. Now Oliver endeavors to love Anna with all the bravery,...

Reviews: The Lair Season Three
I always love how screeners find their way to my doorstep. I'm headed out to get coffee and there's a screener pack, ready and waiting. Coming back from the grocery store? Screener. Trash run? Screeeeneer. It's like space aliens visit when I'm not looking. Or vampires...

Which brings me to my latest viewing: Season 3 of The Lair, Here! TV's supernatural soap about vampires running a sex club -- and eating the members. Last season, a power struggle resulted in the death of Colin (Dylan Vox), the bad-boy vamp, at the hands of Damian (Peter Stickles), the other bad, but suave, vamp and his long suffering, though endessly hot, mortal boyfriend Thom, played by David Moretti.

Talk about dysfunctional.

There was also a business with werewolf that didn't end well for the town sheriff, Trout, played by porn star Colton Ford, nor for Tim (Frankie Valenti), who lost his love to...

Vampire-Con wants your bloody gay dollar!
Above you can see "Tight Squeeze", one of the promos for the upcoming Vampire-Con taking place in Hollywood from August 14-16th. As you can tell from the the video, this convention is unlike most fantasy and sci-fi conventions, as they're openly courting the gay audience.

Scheduled highlights include tributes to Vampirella, a panel discussion titled "Why we love vampires: A brief history of the undead", and a panel discussion titled "Hot-blooded: Vampires & Sexuality" featuring The Lair stars Brian Nolan, David Moretti, Peter Stickles, and Dylan Vox.
