John Wright is a 35 year veteran of the theater in Canada. He primarily works in Edmonton, Alberta, and Calgary, Alberta, but has toured across the country.

He is a terrific Shakespearean actor, but has done many other plays as well. John can be seen almost every summer is Edmonton's River City Shakespeare Festival (from late June until late July).

John has performed for the Free Will players in Edmonton's Shakespeare festival for many years. He has performed in such plays as The Tempest (as Prospero); Romeo and Juliet (as the Friar); Hamelt (As Claudius) and The Merchant of Venice (as Shylock).

John has also been seen on TV in such shows as MacGyver, Danger Bay, Ray Bradbury Theater and most recently in the hit film The Assasination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford.

John is the brother of Janet Wright, one of the supporting actresses on the hit Canadian TV show Corner Gas (2004).

He is the third of four siblings (others being Susan, John, and Anne) who have all made their mark in Canadian theatre. Susan Wright was killed in a fire in 1991 in Stratford, Ontario, along with their parents, Jack and Ruth.
