Arran Shearing is one-half of the writing and directing duo 'Kit & Arran'. As a trans and cis male duo, their work often investigates and critiques masculinity, identity and the normative structures that so often go unquestioned. Kit & Arran's first co-written/directed feature, King Baby, was completed in 2023 and premiers at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2024.
Arran's first feature film, 'Forgotten Man', premiered at Cinequest in 2017 and went on to screen at over twenty festivals worldwide, winning multiple awards, including Best Film at the Sydney Independent Film Festival, Best Performance at the New York Independent Film Festival, and the Leo Award for Cinematography, among others. Arran had previously directed award-winning and Vimeo Staff Pick music videos for independent and major labels alike, for artists including Mac Demarco, Felix Da Housecat, K-OS, and Peter Gregson. Arran is a member of both the Directors Guild of Canada and The International Cinematographers Guild. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Canadian Film Centre Director's Lab.
