Apple TV+ today announced summer premiere dates for a full slate of all-new original series, specials, shorts and returning fan favorites for kids and families.

As part of its family programming slate, Apple will also be rolling out new content and shorts from the legendary “Peanuts” franchise over the summer. New episodes of “The Snoopy Show,” a short-form animated series focusing on the adventures of Charlie Brown’s iconic dog, will debut Aug. 5, and a special starring “Peanuts” character Lucy Van Pelt, “Lucy’s School,” debuts Aug. 12. Apple TV+ Launching ‘Peanuts’-Driven Summer Kids Line-Up

Apple TV+ will launch a slate of all-new original kids and family series, specials and shorts, including Peanuts special “Lucy’s School,” the streamer announced Friday.

In “Lucy’s School,” Lucy Van Pelt starts her own school. Additionally, Apple TV+ is adding new episodes of “The Snoopy Show,” and several classic Peanuts titles from Mendelson/Melendez Productions, including “You’re The Greatest, Charlie Brown,” “You’re In Love, Charlie Brown” and “He’s Your Dog, Charlie Brown,” which all debut on August 5.

The summer lineup kicks off on July 8 with animated series “Duck & Goose,” based on the best-selling books by Tad Hills.

Exclusive: Christine Lin has joined the cast of Surfside Girls from Apple TV+ in a recurring role.

Deadline exclusively revealed the live-action kids and family series received a formal 10-episode order from the streamer in December.

Beloved doll and book line American Girl is getting two new live-action specials. Mattel, Inc. announced on Wednesday that it is partnering with HBO Max and Cartoon Network on a pair of American Girl specials that will debut in 2022 and 2023.

The first special will focus on American Girl’s 2022 Girl of the Year, Corinne Tan, and is set to premiere this December on Cartoon Network followed by a next-day streaming debut on HBO Max. A second special will premiere in 2023.

‘Surfside Girls’: Apple TV+ Orders Family Series Starring Miya Cech & YaYa Gosselin Based On Graphic Novel

Exclusive: Apple TV+ has given a formal 10-episode series order to Surfside Girls, a live-action kids and family series based on the best-selling Top Shelf Productions (Idw Publishing) graphic novel series by author Kim Dwinell. Miya Cech (Rim of the World) and FBI: Most Wanted‘s YaYa Gosselin headline the project, from WGA Award winner May Chan (Avatar: the Last Airbender), Endeavor Content and Idw Entertainment.

Gosselin has been a series regular on CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted since Season 2 having recurred on the show the first season. As she takes on the lead series regular role in Surfside Girls, she will transition back to guest starring/recurring status on FBI: Most Wanted where she will continue in her role as Tali Lacroix.

Surfside Girls is an adventure series about two best friends, Jade (Cech) and Sam (Gosselin), who are psyched to spend their summer riding the waves and catching the rays.

During the last kids’ pilot season, one of the highest-rated pilots was Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street, which was created by pre-school teacher David Anaxagoras, a first-time writer who was discovered through Amazon Studios’ open-door submission process.
