Dr Girish Oak is one of the most versatile and popular actors in Marathi movies, theatre and television.
He was born in Nagpur, and hails from a Brahmin Family.
Having completed his degree in Medicine, he became a full time actor because of his love for theatre.

His daughter Girija Oak is an actress in the industry. Ram Gopal Verma had used his voice in one of the movies without permission, but later apologized to him.
