Aditya Dhar is a celebrated Indian director, writer and producer who made a sensational debut with the blockbuster film "Uri: The Surgical Strike" in 2019. The film dramatized the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack, starring Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, and Paresh Rawal, and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under RSVP Movies. Filmed in Serbia with a mere budget of 3 million dollar, the film grossed Rs. 2.4 billion in India and over Rs. 3.5 billion (approximately 50 million dollar) worldwide, making it the tenth highest-grossing Indian film domestically and the highest-grossing debutante-directed Indian film. This commercial and critical success earned him significant recognition, including the National Film Award for Best Director and the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director at the 65th Filmfare Awards in 2020, along with nominations and wins at the Jagran Film Festival, Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards, and IIFA Awards.
In 2019, Dhar co-founded B62 Studios with his brother Lokesh, named after their childhood address in Delhi, marking his entry into production. Recent works include producing and writing Article 370 (2024), which became one of India's top 10 grosses of 2024, and Dhoom Dhaam (2025), a comedy directed by Rishab Seth, co-written by Dhar, and starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Pratik Gandhi, released on February 14, 2025, as a smash hit Netflix Original.
His second directorial Dhurandhar (2025), an espionage thriller set in the world of R&AW, featuring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and others, is produced by B62 Studios and Jio Studios. Slated for a second-half 2025 release, it's one of the most awaited films from India.
