Simon Baumann(I)

After completing his studies of music and media art at the Bern University of the Arts, Simon Baumann has been working self-employed as a filmmaker and co-partner of the ton und bild GmbH. As director, writer, cinematographer and producer he realized, together with Andreas Pfiffner, the two documentaries "Hope Music" (2007) and "meeting on the 2nd floor" (2005). For the short film "Emozioniere" (2009) Baumann and Pfiffner received the Young Talents award of the Canton of Bern (Switzerland), as well as three festival awards. Baumann's short film "A Cigarette For Two" (2009) received several short film awards. In January 2010 Simon Baumann won the first Swiss Documentary Film Competition of the Migros culture percentage with his documentary project "Zum Beispiel Suberg". The film is in production and will premiere in January 2013. "Image Problem" is Baumann's first feature-length film. It will celebrate its world premiere at the 65th Locarno Film Festival 2012.
