Mumbai, April 28 (Ians) Actor Sooraj Pancholi, who was acquitted of suicide abetment charges in the actress Jiah Khan death case on Friday, has finally broken his silence.

The actor, in a statement, spoke about “winning his dignity back”.

“The verdict has taken 10 long painful years and sleepless nights. But today, I have not only won this case but also won my dignity and confidence back. It took a lot of courage to face the world with such heinous allegations,” he said.

The police have ruled out any potential ‘love-jihad’ angle to the December 24 purported ‘suicide’ of actress Tunisha Sharma, days after a break-up with boyfriend actor Sheezan Khan, official sources said here on Monday.

The Jiah Khan death case has temporarily faced a setback after the Bombay high court stayed the trial of Sessions' court on Monday, July 11. The highly controversial suicide case of Jiah Khan turned murkier as her mother Rabia Khan hurled several accusations at the actress' boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi. After Cbi replied to Rabia Khan's accusations stating that the case is indeed a suicide, now Bombay High Court has asked Rabia to file rejoinder to the Cbi reply within a span of next two weeks. The next hearing is scheduled to be after two weeks. This decision was taken by a bench headed by Justice Naresh Patil whilst the court was hearing Rabia Khan's petition about seeking the Special Investigation Team's help on the case. Jiah Khan committed suicide in June 2013 followed by which, her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was arrested on charges of abetting her suicide. Post that, Rabia Khan further went on to press charges of murder and rape against Sooraj and the case was handed over to the Cbi. However, recent investigations, according to the Cbi, claimed that there was no evidence to prove Jiah's death was a homicide as they concluded it to be a suicide. But Rabia Khan's legal team continued to express its disappointment over the investigations and filed a petition asking the Special Investigation Team to probe into the case. On the other hand, followed by the reports submitted by Cbi, Sooraj was cleared of charges of murder and as of now, he is being charged for abetting the suicide.

Former actress Jiah Khan's suicide case has undergone several tribulations for the past three years. The actress was found hanging herself at her residence on June 3 but this case later culminated into a murder trial after Jiah's mother Rabia Khan accused the actress' boyfriend and actor Sooraj Pancholi on the same.

Though as of now, the case is being considered as a suicide with Sooraj's ongoing trial on abetment of suicide, Rabia refuses to bog down. On the other hand, lawyer of Sooraj, Prashant Patil has allegedly stumbled upon evidence that can change the course of the case. Patil has revealed that he has found evidence that prove that Jiah Khan had suicidal tendencies and was undergoing treatment for depression. He also claimed that any such details that are related to a victim's hypertension tendencies should be put forth before the court and Rabia Khan failed to do so.

Earlier this week we had reported that following the Supreme Court's mandate the Bombay High Court had scheduled the next hearing of the Jiah Khan murder case for June 7. Now we hear that yesterday, the special women's court adjourned the hearing on actor's suicide case till June 10 in response to her mother Rabiya Khan's plea. Apparently, Rabiya had sought the adjournment stating that her petition demanding a probe by a special investigation team was pending before the Bombay High Court, which was likely to hear it on June 7. As per Rabiya Khan's petition with the Bombay High Court, she states that she is not satisfied with the Cbi probe. Further Rabiya stated that a probe conducted by the Sit is needed since the Cbi wrongly concurred with the finding of Mumbai police that it was a suicide, and not a homicidal death.

It seems like the Jiah Khan suicide case will soon be renewed after the Supreme Court directed the Bombay High Court to expedite proceedings on the case. Following this directive the Bombay High Court will be hearing the case on June 7.

This comes after Jiah Khan's mother Rabia Khan, had approached the apex court with a plea stating that the trial court was hearing the matter in an improper manner. Further in her plea to the apex court, Rabia had added that the matter was being heard without the presence of a Special Public Prosecutor, and had also demanded an Sit investigation in the case.

Previously, the Central Bureau of Investigation (Cbi) had been assigned to the case in 2014 by the Bombay High Court. Following this Rabia had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court against the Cbi's report categorising Jiah's death on June 3, 2013, as suicidal and not homicidal.

The suicide case of actress Jiah Khan seems to have had a new twist after two years. The 23 year old Bollywood actress apparently committed suicide at her residence in Juhu in 2013 and her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi came under the radar for abetting the crime. Sooraj, who is the son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, is set to make a Bollywood debut this year with the Salman Khan production Hero. However, in all likelihood, yet again he has been embroiled in this controversy. Apparently, the Cbi that is currently in charge of the case found evidence at Aditya Pancholi's house, when a search was conducted at their residence on Wednesday. The said evidence has been seized and categorized as important evidence in the case. Mumbai, March 3: Late actress Jiah Khan's mother Rabia's latest allegations claiming that someone has informed her that Sooraj Pancholi is trying to kill her, has Aditya Pancholi fuming in fury.

"Although she is trying really hard to damage my family, I feel sorry for her. I think she needs psychiatric help, urgently," said Aditya.

"Everyone realises she is raving and ranting against my son for no fault of his. I can empathize with her grief as a parent. But I can't understand how any sane person can go to such ridiculous lengths just to get even with me and my family."

Mumbai, March 3: Actress Jiah Khan's mother Rabia's lawyer claims that they have "recorded conversations of the witnesses" and the result indicates that it was not a case of "suicide".

Rabia Saturday moved the Bombay High Court once again alleging that Jiah was murdered and had not committed suicide. She wanted a Special Investigating Team to probe the case.

"We have recorded conversations of the witnesses and it is different from the statement recorded by the police. For the last four months, we have been doing investigation and sting operation personally. The result in the material collected by us indicates it is not.
