Romany Lee

Romany recently completed work as assistant to producer Angie Fielder on the much anticipated Weinstein Company/See Saw Films feature 'Lion', starring Nicole Kidman, Dev Patel and Rooney Mara. Prior to 'Lion' Romany worked as production and development assistant at Aquarius Films in Sydney from 2012-2015. During her time there she assisted creative producer Angie Fielder on a number of short form projects, including 'Oscar Wilde's The Nightingale and The Rose', directed by Del Kathryn Barton, two time Archibald prize winner, and Brendan Fletcher ('Mad Bastards'). Romany produced the music clip 'Nightingale Floor' for director David Barker, which won Barker the Directors Guild award for Best Music Video, 2014. Romany studied acting at Queensland University of Technology, graduating in 2006 and then went on to do a Graduate Certificate in Producing for Film and TV at the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 2011. After a short time as a producers attachment with Jamie Hilton at See Pictures Romany took up a position at Aquarius Films. Romany raised $30,000 in Crowdfunding and private investment to make her short film 'Waiting for Rain', written and directed by Andrew Carbone and starring Tom E Lewis (Red Hill), Ryan O'Kane (Mary: The making of a Princess) and Candice Storey (Devils Dust).
