Manga Beating American Comics Including Marvel, Explained: One Piece Beating Superman Was No Accident
Image
If you told someone 25 years ago that One Piece would outsell Superman, the greatest superhero of all time, they’d laugh in your face. But here we are! One Piece, the best-selling manga of all time, has totally dominated not just Batman but Superman as well in terms of sales.

That’s right, One Piece, a story of a stretchy pirate kid who aspires to be the Pirate King, has outsold the Man of Steel in the battle for comic book dominance. So, how did this happen? Let’s look at why manga, specifically One Piece, is taking the world by storm and why superhero comics are lagging behind.

The numbers: How One Piece is dominating against Superman

So, back in August 2022, One Piece totally crushed it by selling over 516 million copies worldwide. Seriously, that’s not just a big deal, it’s a huge deal. Just to give you a fairer perspective,...

New Debate Takes The Internet By Storm: Who Would Win In A Fight - The McU's Sentry Or The Dcu's Superman?
Image
If there's one thing the majority of comic book fans seem to enjoy, it's pitting Marvel against DC. However, it's far more fun to imagine what might happen if certain characters were to go head-to-head.

Thunderbolts*/*The New Avengers recently introduced The Sentry, a seemingly invincible superhero with the power of a thousand exploding suns. This summer, James Gunn's Superman reboot will bring the Man of Steel back to theaters.

In recent days, social media has blown up with one very specific debate: who would win if the McU's Sentry were to fight the Dcu's Superman?

Bob made short work of the Thunderbolts, shrugging off every blow and revealing an ability to create a seemingly impervious forcefield around himself (all while manipulating the matter around him). As for Superman, well, he's Superman and one of the Multiverse's most formidable warriors.

Seeing these two go to war would be pretty extraordinary,...

Rejoice! Peacemaker season 2 gets a thrilling first look
Image
When Peacemaker debuted in The Suicide Squad, no one could have anticipated that the spin-off series focused on him would be as good as it was. People expected the show to be funny and the cast to be entertaining, but the depth that came with it was a welcome surprise. It's why fans were worried about its fate when Warner Bros and DC canceled a lot of projects in 2022.

After James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DC Universe, Peacemaker’s future was in limbo. Yes, it was Gunn's show and it was already renewed by Max at that point in time, so it was in a better position than any other DC project at the time, but no one knew for certain if it would return. And if it did, would it take place in the former DC Extended Universe that it belonged to or the new Dcu that was in formation?...

Clark Kent Will Fight His Own Enemy In Superman
Image
Steve Lombard is back, and he’s ready to take down Clark Kent in James Gunn’s Superman (2025). If there’s one thing Man of Steel did right, it was Clark Kent’s character development. Too often, superhero films prioritize the “super” over the human, neglecting the nuanced lives of the not-so-super alter-egos. Perhaps that’s the reason why everyone loves Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy so much: they focus on Peter Parker and Spider-Man in equal measure. James Gunn routinely takes a more down-to-earth approach to comic book characters. Even when he’s writing about the Guardians of the Galaxy and cosmic threats, he creates relatable characters that suffer the same struggles you’d expect to see daily. These aren’t just superheroes; they’re flawed, vulnerable people wearing capes (or raccoon fur). That’s why his take on Superman feels so promising: Gunn isn’t just retelling the myth of the Kryptonian demigod.

There's No "I" In "Peace" On First Poster For Peacemaker Season 2; First Trailer Arrives Tomorrow
Image
The first poster for Peacemaker season 2 has been released, with the trailer now confirmed for tomorrow. Some of you may be disappointed that this is getting a push before Superman's first full trailer lands, but the Man of Steel did recently get a 5-minute sneak peek and featurette.

This latest sneak peek, which follows yesterday's TV spot, doesn't reveal much, but puts the spotlight on the title character and Eagly. It's also accompanied by the tagline, "There is no I in Peace."

Plot details for season 2 are being kept a closely guarded secret, though there are rumblings that, among the changes made when we follow Smith into a new reality, will be the fact that his father and brother are alive again. Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr. will also be out for revenge after learning of Peacemaker's role in his son's death.

Peacemaker spun out of the events of The Suicide Squad,...

The Most Disturbing Enemy Superman Ever Faced Isn't Doomsday, It's Actually This Guy

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Absolute Superman #7!

Trigger Warning: Body Horror & Gore

DC’s Absolute Universe has just delivered one of the most disturbing twists on a classic Superman villain, completely reshaping fan perception of the character and making Doomsday’s grotesque body look like child’s play compared to this villain’s new design. Proceed with caution: this Absolute Superman issue unleashes 22 pages of pure body horror.

Jason Aaron, Carmine Di Giandomenico, and Ulises Arreola’s Absolute Superman #7 takes a break from the Man of Steel and instead fully focuses on Brainiac, who has been teased throughout the series. Before this issue, fans had yet to get a proper look at the iconic villain, with his appearances limited to obscured angles or distant shots.

For the most part, Brainiac remained a mystery. The only known facts about him were that he was part of the Research and Development department of Lazarus Corps,...

Superman Action Figures Reveal Hero Finding A Unique New Use For His Super Breath - Possible Spoilers
Image
New action figures for Superman have been revealed, and they show the Man of Steel finding a unique use for his Super Breath. While there's no guarantee that what's shown here will make it into the movie, the hero has armed himself with ice-gauntlets.

This would make for a cool—pun intended—visual on screen, and is a far more comic book-inspired approach to Superman's powers than other recent interpretations we've seen.

Also of note is the fact that Guy Gardner/Green Lantern comes bundled with some saw blade energy constructs. Mr. Terrific, meanwhile, has his patented T-Sphere weapons.

As for the villainous Hammer of Boravia (widely believed to be Ultraman in disguise), he looks like a suitably formidable opponent for the Dcu's Superman. We'll no doubt see plenty more merchandise in the weeks ahead, with the next trailer bound to showcase at least some of his abilities.

While we're...

Rumor: Superman's Mysterious Orb In The Sky Has Finally Been Identified (And It's A Little Underwhelming)
Image
Our first look at Superman came in the form of an official still, though it was far more divisive than most early sneak peeks.

The intention was to show how different this Man of Steel is, with the hero lacing up his boots, one at a time. Unfortunately, it wasn't an overly flattering shot of the suit and Superman's seemingly relaxed actions seemed questionable with a huge glowing orb causing chaos outside.

The orb has been the subject of great debate; is it Metamorpho's evolved form, something Parasite-related, or could it even herald the arrival of Mongul?

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, it's nothing quite that exciting.

"The big pink ball in the sky that we saw behind Superman when we got the First Look and then we saw it again in the trailer is a black hole that Lex created," the insider claims.

While this makes sense, we know it's...

Superman Vs Sentry: Who Is More Powerful?
Image
Spoilers for "Thunderbolts*" follow.

"Superman" — directed by James Gunn, and starring David Corenswet as the big blue boy scout — is soaring into theaters this July. Hopefully, its impact will be big enough to push the new DC Universe on film forward.

But before Superman returns to the silver screen, Marvel has debuted its own Superman-analog for the big screen. "Thunderbolts*", which is one of the better and most emotional Marvel Studios movies in recent years, introduces Bob Reynolds (Lewis Pullman) aka The Sentry. CIA Director and Sentry's creator Valentina "Val" Allegra De Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) brands him Earth's Mightiest Hero, because the Sentry is meant to be worth all six of the Avengers in one. The Sentry may indeed be as powerful as the Man of Steel, but if these two caped heroes ever fought, who would prevail?

Now, there's no actual answer. Spoiler alert: Superman and the Sentry aren't real.

Superman Director James Gunn On New Spin On Lois & Clark's Relationship And A "Flawed" Man Of Steel
Image
The first trailer for Superman made it pretty clear that Lois Lane and the Man of Steel were an item, but it seems the former is going to have some doubts about the relationship in the upcoming DC reboot.

While speaking to ABC, director James Gunn explained where we'll find Lois and Clark at the beginning of the movie.

“He’s in love with her. She’s the one that needs the convincing in the relationship. It’s not him. You really see where he needs her in his life.”

As for the Man of Tomorrow, it sounds like this interpretation of the iconic hero is going to be depicted as being far from perfect.

"[The film is] a personal journey for Superman that’s entirely new,” says Gunn. "He’s a character who is pretty damn good, but flawed.”

Mr. Terrific Isn’t Playing Around in New ‘Superman’ Set Image
Image
James Gunnjust revealed a new look at one of the heroes from Superman. The filmmaker has shared a behind-the-scenes image featuring himself and Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi). The character is present in the narrative because it has been established that Clark Kent (David Corenswet) won't be the only hero running around Metropolis. Different corporations have hired heroes to wear their name while they save people, and Mister Terrific is one of these public figures. Superman will be different from all of them by working alone and wearing his family's emblem instead of a company's name.

Superman will follow Clark Kent as he balances his life as a journalist for the Daily Planet and his life as the last son of Krypton. The hero will develop a complicated relationship with Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), his most iconic rival from the pages of DC Comics. This version of the Man of Steel...

James Gunn's Superman Prequel Story Synopsis Revealed Along With New Look at the Dcu's Man of Steel
Image
A synopsis for the Superman prequel novel, Superman: Welcome to Metropolis, referred to Superman as "a powerful metahuman." This comes after the Man of Steel's newest cinematic outing got a sneak peek that put Lex Luthor and Superman face to face.

The synopsis (via Penguin Random House) avows that Clark Kent is a "fresh face to Metropolis," trying to balance his new job at the Daily Planet and his secret identity as Superman, "a powerful metahuman." The synopsis goes on to further note that Superman also uncovers a "dangerous mystery" that seems to tie back to Lex Luthor. Tying into this, the prequel novel's author James Prescott avouched on X, "Meta human is a term used for anyone with superhuman abilities, human or not. Calma." The cover for the book has also been revealed, which can be seen below.

The synopsis in full reads, "Clark Kent is a fresh face to Metropolis,...

Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern Movie Was Supposed To Include A DC Superhero Cameo
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

The early 2010s were an interesting time for the DC universe on screen. It was largely a period of transition. Warner Bros. experienced incredible success with Christopher Nolan's $1 billion smash Oscar-winning hit "The Dark Knight," while other projects were coming together behind the scenes. On the other side of the street, Marvel was putting together a full shared universe of films that would culminate in 2012's "The Avengers." Comic book crossovers were becoming all the rage. DC explored a pretty major crossover as Superman was, at one point, going to appear in 2011's "Green Lantern."

For those who may need a refresher, the film starred Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan long before he turned "Deadpool" into a smash R-rated hit. Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale") was in the director's chair. "Green Lantern" earned just $220 million at the global box office against a huge $200 million budget,...

DC Just Flipped 2 Major Man Of Steel Scenes In The Perfect Way 11 Years Later
Image
Superman & Lois just provided two major Man of Steel moments with huge parallels, 11 years after the latter was first released. Interestingly, Superman & Lois season 4's story runs parallel with that of Henry Cavill's Superman from the Dceu movie timeline in many ways. From the inclusion of Doomsday to the adaptation of DC Comics' Death of Superman arc, the two are somewhat interlinked. By the time of Superman & Lois season 4's ending, however, the show had done more than enough to solidify itself as its own compelling, emotional journey.

The finale focused on Superman, Lois, and their family as they faced off one final time against Lex Luthor and Doomsday. This arc gave Superman & Lois' ensemble cast a great send-off, allowing for both a fantastic story in its own right and several DC Easter eggs. Rather than having some of these Easter eggs be tied to James Gunn's upcoming Superman film,...

James Gunn Discusses DC Studios' New Intro; Says Superman Will Be Dcu's "MGM Lion"
Image
The Marvel Studios fanfare is nothing short of iconic and there's been a lot of excitement and intrigue surrounding what DC Studios will come up with for the Dcu.

We got our first glimpse of it before Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, though there was speculation at the time that the relatively simple intro would perhaps change from project to project depending on the character.

A fan on social media website Bluesky recently asked Gunn, "I was surprised to see the Superman DC ID at the start. Will all DC stuff use the Superman ID, or will the character featured change based on [the] project?" To that, he responded, "He's our MGM lion. It will usually be him."

While the "usually" is interesting, it sounds like DC Studios plans to make Superman the focal point of the Dcu and the character this world revolves around. That's not a bad thing after...

10 Best Moments In All 4 Seasons Of Superman & Lois
Image
Superman & Lois ended the era of DC shows on The CW, and its final season once again delivered plenty of exciting moments, adding to the long list of major events seen in the Superman series. Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Tal-Rho, and more villains pushed the Man of Steel to his limit over Superman & Lois' four seasons. That all culminated in Clark Kent becoming human and dying in the Superman & Lois series finale.

While shocking, it was a poignant and fitting ending to this version of the Man of Steel. It also gave Tyler Hoechlin's Superman an original arc, separating him from other live-action Superman actors. Before dying, Superman had many impressive adventures in one of the best live-action DC shows. Superman & Lois' best moments include a wide variety of characters and situations. However, Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel happens to be at the center of several of them, showing...

The series finale of Superman & Lois was a powerful episode that did something few Man of Steel stories ever do: It ended. While fans usually like their heroes to continue living off-screen forever, Clark Kent's death was crucial to the series. While Superman saw his friends, family and Lois, the most important part of the series finale was a quiet moment with Lex Luthor. Tyler Hoechlin Superman's 10 Most Impressive Displays Of Power After 8 Years In The Arrowverse
Image
Superman & Lois has come to an end, making it the perfect time to examine the most incredible displays of power that the titular hero was able to perform during his time in the Arrowverse and beyond. Concluding with an astounding and heartbreaking rematch against Doomsday, the series spent much of its run humanizing Superman and bringing him down to Earth. Despite this, the hero did many impressive and unbelievable things, both in the series, and during his appearances in the now-defunct Arrowverse, that are worth looking back at.

Superman's powers have been displayed in DC media through the years, and have generally remained fairly consistent. While the character was originally launched with some diminished abilities that were more superhuman than godlike in 1938, this quickly changed. The character, rather than leaping over tall buildings, was given the ability to fly in 1943, creating the version of the hero audiences now know and love.

The finale of Superman & Lois didn't just end that series, but it also brought the most impressive run of DC Comics' TV adaptations to an end.

Superman's New Cape Is More Powerful Than You Realize

Superman's cape is a staple of his costume that's stood the test of time since his creation, and it just got a huge design overhaul in DC's Absolute Universe. Superman And Lois Actor Wolé Parks Shares First look At Unused, Comic-Accurate Steel Costume

Though John Henry Irons, aka Steel, did suit-up in Superman and Lois, his costume turned out to be a pretty generic-looking grey suit of armor. Now, actor Wolé Parks has revealed that his character was originally supposed to debut a more comic-accurate design.

Creature Commandos: Speculation Mounts That Circe Could Appear In Superman Following James Gunn's Comments
Image
The first official image from James Gunn's Superman reboot showed an already battle-weary Man of Steel (David Corenswet) pulling his boots on to go deal with another threat to Metropolis, as a mysterious purple blast illuminated the sky.

There were several theories relating to the villain responsible for this attack, but after the season premiere of Creature Commandos, speculation has mounted that it could be Circe (Anya Chalotra).

Not only do Circe's magical abilities manifest with a similarly-coloured glow, but we know that the powerful sorceress was apprehended in Metropolis at some point thanks to her mugshot (how the police were able to get her to pose for that photo is another matter).

Metropolis?

Seems like Superman and Circe might’ve met in Dcu...

“I am sick of seeing those three …”: James Gunn is Almost Certain, Dcu Will Never Do 1 Thing Even Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder Couldn’t Resist
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for Creature Commandos.

James Gunn had the oddest choice to kick off his Dcu with Creature Commandos. However, the show has managed to wow fans and critics, giving audiences a peek into what the DC Universe is going to look like under his and Peter Zaslav’s supervision.

Creature Commandos might have been an odd place to start for the Dcu, but James Gunn has made it abundantly clear that he would not go the generic route with starting a DC-shared universe either. Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan might have indulged themselves in this trope, but James Gunn is sure that it just does not have a place in the Dcu.

“I’ve Contemplated It”: James Gunn Reveals His Thoughts About Bringing Matt Reeves’ Batman Into the Dcu
Image
Today marked a huge step forward for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios. It’s with the two-episode premiere of the adult-animated series, Creature Commandos, that the pair are kicking off Phase One of their new(ish) DC Universe, lovingly dubbed “Gods and Monsters”. Those looking forward to future small-screen projects like Waller, Booster Gold, and Season 2 of Peacemaker, will find those titles under the massive umbrella, alongside films such as Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and Swamp Thing. Beyond the massive piece of the puzzle that saw David Corenswet (Pearl) toss on the cape of Clark Kent aka Superman for the upcoming feature, replacing the long-standing Man of Steel, Henry Cavill (Argylle), was the decision to make Matt Reeves’ neo-noir crime drama world of The Batman a separate entity from the Dcu.

Batman Will Go Great Lengths to Protect His Secret Identity, Even in the Real World
Image
Bruce Wayne is going the extra mile to protect his secret identity as Batman, even in reality. Few heroes keep their secret identity under such a tight lock and key as Batman does. Even some of the superheroes he calls his friends have been known to be oblivious of who lies under the cowl. Sometimes, Bruce goes as far as to have an extra secret identity. That's how protective he is of hiding his identity.

On X, Detective Comics writer Tom Taylor exposes the lengths that Batman is going to protect his secret identity on social media - even in real life. In the post, the writer promotes the release of Detective Comics #1091 by himself and Mikel Janín, who also provides cover art.

Superman & Lois Had Plans For A Major Justice League Villain Before Its Cancellation
Image
The Arrowverse is a vital part of TV history, one that helped bring the expansiveness, the interconnectedness, the weird, and the soapy parts of DC's comic book superhero stories to the small screen. It also featured DC superheroes that had never been adapted in live-action before (like Black Lightning and Batwoman), all the while giving the spotlight to lesser-known comic book villains such as Merlyn, Savitar, and the Eradicator.

Still, when the franchise featured big, iconic villains from the pages of DC Comics, it resulted in some truly thrilling superhero stories — like Reverse-Flash going from battling Flash to founding the Legion of Doom, or how "Superman & Lois" brought in and then reinvented Doomsday. Much like "The Flash" had time to introduce lesser-known rogues while also including some of the titular character's most famous opponents, "Superman & Lois" managed to pack in most of the Man of Steel's greatest enemies in...

Superman Star Believes David Corenswet's Man of Steel Mirrors Christopher Reeve
Image
The DC Universe's highly anticipated Superman reboot sees David Corenswet portray the eponymous Man of Steel, carrying on the caped crusader's hallowed legacy. One co-star believes Corenswet's approach and performance as Superman mirrors that of arguably the greatest actor to play the role.

Speaking on The Kristian Harloff Show, Superman remake star Frank Grillo offered the highest praise to Corenswet for his showing as the Last Son of Krypton, believing he's similar to iconic actor Christopher Reeve in the role. While many compare Corenswet to the DC Extended Universe's Superman, Henry Cavill, due to their resemblance, Grillo thinks he has a "seriousness" about him that matches what Reeve did during his heyday. "Henry Cavill, beautiful dude. I mean, God touched him on the shoulder and said, 'I’m going to make you handsome,'" he said. "But with David, there’s something very Christopher Reeve about him. He’s got a stoicism.

David Cornswet's 'Superman' Compared to Christopher Reeve by Frank Grillo
Image
As James Gunn ushers in a new era for the DC Universe, he's introducing audiences to yet another Superman. David Corenswet plays the Man of Steel in Gunn's new movie, set to hit theaters in June 2025, and audiences are understandably nervous about how the project will turn out. But, according to Corenswet's Superman co-star, Frank Grillo, the Pearl actor is perfect as DC's Blue Boy Scout.

Grillo sat down with Kristian Harloff to discuss his role as Rick Flag Sr. in the new Dcu. Flag Sr. will debut in the animated Creature Commandos, before jumping over into live-action with Superman. When asked about Corenswet's portrayal as Superman, Grillo had nothing but praise, and even compared him to one of the all-time greats. "With David there’s something very Christopher Reeve about him," Grillo exclaimed. Alongside Henry Cavill, Christopher Reeve is commonly regarded as the best big-screen Superman. Reeve played...

Image
The following contains spoilers for Superman & Lois Season 4, Episode 10, "It Went By So Fast," now available on the CW app.

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch are glad Superman & Lois' bittersweet ending stayed true to their characters' love for one another.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly after the series finale "It Went By So Fast" aired, both leads talked about the story's decision to show Clark Kent and Lois Lane's remaining 32 years as a couple until their respective deaths. While Tulloch hoped Max would pick the final Arrowverse show up for more seasons, she ultimately felt the finale was "beautiful" and reflected on her reaction to Lois' death scene after her breast cancer made a return.

The Superman & Lois Series Finale Made History With An Unexpected Death
Image
Heavy spoilers ahead for the "Superman & Lois" finale.

The era of the Arrowverse is officially over, as is the era of DC superheroes on The CW. It's fitting, then, that what started with "Smallville" telling the origin of Superman over 20 years ago would end with "Superman & Lois" bringing the story of the Man of Steel to a definitive end.

Unlike most shows in the Arrowverse, "Superman & Lois" didn't take on the form of an origin story. Instead, the show followed Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) after he had already spent 20 years on the job as the Man of Tomorrow, married Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), and had two teenage sons. By the time we meet him, this version of Superman has already accomplished nearly everything you'd expect the character to go through in a movie trilogy, having even defeated Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) and sent him to jail before the start of the series.

Superman Takes Flight In New Promo Art As Frank Grillo Compares David Corenswet To Christopher Reeve
Image
Despite taking on roles in the likes of Hollywood and Twisters, it's not unfair to say David Corenswet was a relative unknown before being cast as the title character in James Gunn's Superman.

Everything we've seen of the 6'4" actor suggests he's been perfectly cast as the iconic superhero. He looks the part, towers over his co-stars, and has packed on plenty of muscle to bring the Kryptonian to life in the new Dcu.

Now, Creature Commandos and Superman star Frank Grillo shared what he thinks makes Corenswet so perfect for the role in an interview with Kristian Harloff.

"Henry Cavill, beautiful dude. I mean, God touched him on the shoulder and said, 'I’m going to make you handsome,'" he started. "But with David, there’s something very Christopher Reeve about him. He’s got a stoicism. There’s a seriousness."

Superman & Lois Showrunners Detail Scrapped Plans For Brainiac And Darkseid In The Series
Image
Superman & Lois ended this past Monday with its fourth and final season. A combination of The CW moving away from expensive scripted dramas and the formation of DC Studios sealed the show's fate, though James Gunn reportedly pushed for the series to get a proper ending.

Original plans obviously called for Superman & Lois to last for more than four years, and co-showrunners Todd Helbing & Brent Fletcher recently told TV Line about some of the future ideas they didn't get a chance to explore.

"If we went on for a couple more seasons, we would have really explored Brainiac," Helbing says of the iconic villain played in Superman & Lois by Nikolai Witschl. "We would have done more cool, traditional Brainiac stuff with him."

Doomsday, who is often considered the ultimate Superman villain, was killed in the series finale and it turns out the duo hoped to up the ante...

How The Superman & Lois Series Finale Killed Off Its Strongest DC Comics Villain
Image
Spoilers for "Superman & Lois" to follow.

With the end of "Superman & Lois," the last remnant of the old Arrowverse has been swept away, leaving The CW's multi-series TV franchise now just a notable blip in the long history of scripted television. To be fair, the Arrowverse officially came to a close with the series finale of "The Flash" back in 2023, due to some multiverse shenanigans. But parallel universes and time travel didn't stop shows from being connected under the franchise banner before, so for all intents and purposes, this is the real, final end, and it brings a surprisingly tender sendoff for one of the show's main villains -- Doomsday.

If you watch the show and know much about the Superman comics, you'll know that this particular version of the deadly beast is a good deal different from past incarnations. That's because "Superman & Lois" did something no previous...

Superman Merchandise Reveals A Mysterious New "S" Logo As Major Trailer Release Date Update Is Revealed
Image
While all eyes are on Creature Commandos this week, there's even more excitement for next year's Superman. The true start of the new Dcu, it seems the hope is that the movie will put DC Studios on the map and separate this franchise from the Dceu.

Ccxp is kicking off in Brazil this week and, with James Gunn recently confirming he'll be missing the event, it's looking increasingly unlikely that it will feature a Superman trailer debut of any sort.

However, merchandise is available at the event and much is being said about the blue "S" logo you can see in the X post below. Is it a nod to the Fortress of Solitude? Some kind of Ultraman or Anti-Superman shield? We don't know, but it's generating a lot of discussion among fans on social media.

In related news, Grace Randolph is claiming today that the "[Superman] trailer press event is...

Superman & Lois Actor Shares His Unused Ideas for Season 5, Pitches a Super Sons Spinoff

Superman & Lois star Alex Garfin opens up about his proposed idea for Season 5 and a Super Sons spinoff series.

Speaking to ScreenRant, Garfin discussed what he had intended to pitch to the showrunners of Superman & Lois for a potential fifth season of the hit Superman series. "Superman deals with the physical [while] Lois, a lot of times, deals with the emotional issues and the more interpersonal issues, and we see how the interpersonal issues can manifest in a physical way," Garfin explained. "In fact, I had a pitch that I was going to do for Season 5. So I was going to pitch this, and Tyler actually liked it so much he was going to pitch it with me, because I was 19 at the time, but he really believed in this idea."

Tribute or Knockoff? One Superman & Lois Scene May be Frame-by-Frame Copied from Henry Cavill’s Heroic Entry in Justice League
Image
In the world of entertainment and Hollywood, there is a very thin line that separates fact from fiction, real from reel, and knockoff or a tribute. In Superman & Lois‘s case, it might be both from Henry Cavill’s film.

Tyler Hoechlin in a still from Superman & Lois | Credits: DC Entertainment

The scene in question was featured in the final episode of the iconic CW show Superman & Lois, and fans were very quick to spot the similarities. Whether it is a tribute or a knockoff of Henry Cavill’s entry from Zack Snyder’s Justice League, remains another question.

The Tribute That May Have Been a Knockoff (or Vice Versa)

It was the year 2021 when the world decided to have a mini rebellion and bully Warner Bros. into releasing the Snyder Cut. The film, which was called Zack Snyder’s Justice League, featured Henry Cavill’s Superman wearing a black suit.

I Can’t Believe Superman & Lois Managed To Tie Up 10 Major Storylines In 20 Minutes
Image
Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 4, episode 10.The Superman & Lois series finale was a fantastic ending to one of DC's most emotional series, and I was amazed by how many storylines it managed to resolve in such a short amount of time. I am sad that Superman & Lois is over, but I'm glad about the time that we got to spend with Tyler Hoechlin's Clark Kent, Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane, and the rest of the cast. Superman & Lois season 4's characters all got a fitting ending in the show's final episode, even if some were sadder than others.

If there is one thing that I love about the Superman & Lois series finale, it's that it is not open-ended. The live-action DC show chose to give a satisfying ending to all of its core characters, leaving little up to the imagination about...

James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Film Could Follow a Soul-crushing Trend That Brought Fans to Tears in Guardians of the Galaxy and Peacemaker
Image
James Gunn is a mastermind when it comes to filmmaking. Although he has a lot more on his plate as the co-ceo of DC Studios, there is no denying that he could change lives with a story. Fans have seen it time and time again, inside and outside of the Dcu, with The Guardians of the Galaxy being the perfect example of the same.

James Gunn on Inside of You podcast | image: YouTube

Now, the director is heading the next Superman film, and fans cannot wait for more information on it. However, there is a layer of concern about the project that does not relate to its quality. Although Gunn is known for making hilarious films, he has also gained a reputation for sneaking up on his viewers and leaving them emotionally wrecked.

With this in mind, there is one direction that the director could take that would actually destroy...
