Darren Morze is an American film, TV, and media composer best known for his work on the Emmy-nominated Netflix documentary The Greatest Night in Pop, the notorious viral Mickey Mouse-inspired slasher flick The Mouse Trap, the BAFTA-nominated drama Mass (starring Jason Isaacs and Ann Dowd), the Ron Perlman and Ralph Innes Neo-Western The Last Victim, A24's Elle Fanning drama The Vanishing of Sydney Hall- as well as Dark Was the Night, Front Cover, Enter Nowhere, and the TV mini series' Age of The Living Dead and American Tourist: Nightmare in Thailand. In the narrative podcast world, Darren scored the Signal Award winners American Hostage (starring Jon Hamm), Black Box (starring Kelsey Grammar), and The Foxes of Hydesville (starring Carey Mulligan, McKenna Grace, and Phoebe Tonkin).
Darren began his career as a musician and live sound engineer, touring the world with artists such as Dr. Dog, stellastarr*, The Killers, Jane's Addiction, Easy Star All-Stars, Placebo, and The Raveonettes. Morze began his film scoring career with stellastarr* singer Shawn Christensen's short film, Curfew, which won over 40 international film festival awards before winning the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film at the 85th Academy Awards in 2013. Darren then pursued film scoring full time, combining his passion for experimental music composition and sound design with his obsession with non-traditional instrumentation and electronica. To date he has scored over 150 films and documentaries, in addition to dozens of modern dance performances, art installations, and commercials. He also performs live as a member/collaborator with the art/noise/industrial/acid jazz/multi-media/pyrotechnics troupe Mecha Sonic Sessions.
